Re: Anyone know anything recent about Mike Bucki?

If Mike sold off this stuff, wouldn't we have seen it around? That was kind of my point... I have no way to prove this, but based on my phone conversations with him (all before he went dark), I think he still has everything. I have some theories, but nothing I'd want to post, because they're just t...

Re: Anyone know anything recent about Mike Bucki?

For the record, Mike has fixed my stuff in the past. He did a great job, and I feel he charged me fairly. The fact that I seem to have escaped whatever happened after my dealings with him doesn't make me feel any better. I especially feel for Mitchell C and his Taurus pedals--if everything he says i...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

I would think the Carlos Moog would be a little more famous, no? Switched on Bach? Not to mention the Eric Sidday system that was heard all over radio and TV by millions How about Keith Emerson's system? Paul Bley's? Roger Powell's? Tomita's? It would seem that the Monkees used Mickey's Moog as mor...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

I wonder if they used the same tape gun? Does that tape gun have a serial.. or not? Would non-serialized Moog tape guns be more valuable than serialized ones? Brian maybe that’s your department ;-) AFAIK, Moog used Dymo brand label makers and tape. It doesn't seem to be as rare as one would think. ...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

From the photos, one of my keyboard controllers looks very similar to the Dolenz system's, especially the top piece. Compago, I'm curious if you've looked inside your 950. As far as I can tell, my keyboard isn't a P-R, because it has some very delicate gold wires that connect with the buss when the ...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

Help me ID these hand made markings, a sideways "S" with a line through it - maybe an electrical engineering symbol? they appear on some of the module faceplates in the corners, randomly: http://compago.net/music/moog/img/Moog-marking-scratch.jpg Just a WAG, but could it just be a sine wa...

Re: Micky Dolenz Moog

I have access to Micky Dolenz' 1967 R.A. Moog Modular III-p or 3C. It's still visibly mint, the owner is selling it and I am representing him. It's a museum piece. It may have been the moog used on The Doors Strange Days song, I am trying to verify that. Pretty sure Micky sold it to Bobby Sherman &...

Re: 907 fixed filter bank question...

My 991 Attenuator, 912 Envelope Follower, and CP1 modules look like early if not prototype models, and there are Dymo labels on all, same size and font as the 907 pic. It must have been a standard practice at the Trumansburg factory. I still have that orange plastic labelmaker somewhere..... If anyo...

Re: George Duke Dies

I picked up Feel in '74. Even though he was using Odysseys at the time, I could tell he was going to be a serious challenge to the Jan Hammer monosynth title. Then I saw him w/Zappa in '75. Man, what a band! I have everything from then up 'til Dream On . IMO, not his best effort, but his reworking o...

Re: What are your favorite Moog albums?

The Minotaur from MOOG: The Electric Eclectics Of Dick Hyman. Modular Moog with a cheesy rhythm box and lots of octave portamento (Keith Emerson would follow suit with Lucky Man). Loved it.

That's not just any crate, my friend--that's a Moog crate!
Bob surely touched it! Maybe the wood came from his farm (is it walnut???)

Let the bidding begin!!

Re: Abandoned Moog Modular in India

Always wondered what was in that large crate going to India with Bob and Co. posing in Trumansburg. From The Moog Archive site: http://moogarchives.com/truman69.jpg Looks to be a stock 2P with an extra cabinet containing a 960 sequencer and 912 envelope followers, with two custom preamps. There wer...

Re: Abandoned Moog Modular in India

Looks like a IIp with a sequencer cab. Wonder what the cab on the lower right is? And what are those VU meters for?
