Re: New girl with a Slim Phatty!

Along the top of the Slim Phatty you will see the sections: Modulation, Oscillators, Filter & Envelope Generators. These are different parts of the system which work together to produce the end sound - I touch on each section below: The "Oscillators" are the sound sources you start wit...

Re: Help with MIDI Arp

Hey there, The arpeggiator is probably set to "Latch" mode. Press the "Enter/Store" button when in the arpeggiator and the arpeggiator will only sound when you play a key (on the screen you will see an "A" for normal arpeggiator mode and a "L" for latched mode...

Re: Slim Phatty - Out of tune

Sounds like your SP is climbing up to 60.00 from a similar position and at a similar rate to my SP's. After leaving it for around 30mins or so, is the intonation fixed? If it is, then I think your unit is working as normal, as the tuning/intonation is always a bit wacky at first until it has warmed ...

Re: Slim Phatty - Out of tune

Hi Oliver, You say Fine Tune was "Off", you could try setting Fine Tune to "Auto". Once that is set to Auto, turn the unit off and on again and try this: What I normally do as soon as I turn on my LP/SP's is go into the Master Menu and scroll to the Fine Tune function (but not cl...

Re: A Stevie Wonder classic song on the Minimoog D

This is really great! I love that album and you managed to capture all the parts pretty damn well!
The vocoder is something a bit different and I like how you kept the end bends on the first lines of the verses. :D

Keep up the good work!

Re: Presets in non-matching Phatty poly chains?

I find three units is cool as you can get min./maj./aug./dim. triad chords etc. but also because I'm rackmounting a patchbay (bringing the phatty CV connections to the front) and two CP-251's above them. The reason I say three is good in that aspect is that the multiple circuits (signal splitters/di...

Re: Presets in non-matching Phatty poly chains?

Aswell as polyphony, one thing I've found I do alot is simply "stacking" the units (turn poly mode off - so all key-presses play all units as a midi controller). For example, you can run the same patch on both units with 4 oscs. for extra power, or get more interesting, complex soundscapes...

Re: Presets in non-matching Phatty poly chains?

I run a 3 unit poly chain - a LP Stage II (w/ CV outs) + 2 SP's. Expanding on what Voltor said - you can send the current panel settings, a single preset or all presets through the midi cable that is chaining the units together, by the press of a button! (The options are in the SYSEX menu). In your ...

SP's with Grounding Issue

Hey there, I have an LP and 2 SP's for polychaining (SP's in 19" rack behind LP). I just moved to a new apartment and it appears my 2 SP's (but not the LP) are having the well-documented "dancing-dial syndrome" (encoder LED's moving by themselves). The LED's do not wildly move around ...

Re: Controller for Minitaur

Whatever you get, make sure it has a standard midi DIN output and not only midi over USB, as in that case you'd need a computer DAW between the keyboard controller and the Minitaur which is not ideal for easy/live use.

Re: CV Patchbay between LP/SP's and CP-251's

The resistors and soldering is true for some of the moogerfoogers, but im not sure about the LP gate/pitch CV inputs. I dont know if anyone actually figured that one out. Ohok, I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when I get there.. If you do end up trying some of these types of signals thro...

Re: CV Patchbay between LP/SP's and CP-251's

Hi Rob, Thanks for your response - it's very informative and I now know what type and configuration of patch bay will suit my setup - TRS Balanced with a de-normalled (thru) configuration. I would like to utilize the functionality of all the CV's, so I'll look into the workarounds (i.e. for gate and...
