Re: DIY Midi Cables 3 or 5 wires?
Here's what the Midi Spec 1.0 says about MIDI cables. MIDI Spec Cable.png They show the cables having only two conductors, inside the shield. Yep. In all the years between the 80s and now, I've never come across any MIDI gear that doesn't work with my twin core + shield cables. I use high quality b...

Re: Throw me a rope
Welcome aboard James! Well I sort of had/have the same concerns as you. I first saw the Sub 37 about a year ago and thought "Wow this is a Moog and it's relatively affordable!" But I kept telling myself that I have no business buying it because I knew next to nothing about synthesizers or ...

Re: Best Sequencer for Multiple Moogerfoogers?
FWIW, I believe the VOS is the only 5U-sized module that that Synthrotek makes - the rest is all Eurorack, pedals, and circuit boards/kits. Wished they offered some of their other products in 5U... :( Yeah I am pretty sure that's the only 5U product they have. They are local to me, I go down there ...

Re: Model D arrived today in the UK
I'm in the states myself so there is actually 21 (of course that's metric so you have to double it and add 30 )Rufus the Dog wrote: My info is that only 25 arrived in the UK and 2 of those are being held back for reviews etc.... so 23 only available ... well 20 now

Re: Model D arrived today in the UK
That's wonderful! I can't keep my hands of mine. I have hardly used any of my other gear since I got the Model D. I am sure that will change after some time.
Have fun and post some music up from it.

Re: Your Number 1 Synth
Right now pretty much all my synth gear is Moog, except for a Roland Juno DS (to kind of feel in the poly/keyboard roll for now) and a small Eurorack that I've been piecing together. With that said at the moment my Reissue Model D is my number 1 Synth. I think part if it is that it is my newest Synt...

Re: Model D Reissue. Here to stay? Or limited run?
I kind of understand the OP concern about "limited" runs and not know what that really means. I've come into the Synth life fairly recently. Grew up in the 60's and 70's so I heard them a lot but never really got into them. Actually been a pseudo drummer for a good share of my life and hav...

DIY Midi Cables 3 or 5 wires?
I am going to make some custom Midi cables for a couple of racks I am building. One is going to house a Voyager RME, (2) Slim Phattys, (2) Minitaurs and an old Roland XV-5050 that I've had forever. The other cabinet is going to hold all the Moogerfoogers which I have one of each. So my question is s...

Model D dust cover with panel still up?
I just acquired a new re-issued Model D. Obviously the original Model D's been around for 30 years so there have probably been 100's of different dust cover designs made. With that said I am curious if there is one available that would facilitate the control panel still being propped up? All the one...

Re: Disabling sequencer, is it possible?
Just curious if anyone has tested this small device to disable the sequencer? MIDI Solutions Event Processor 10 or 32 Has anyone tried this yet or figure a way to keep the Beatstep Pro from starting the sequencer? I just started messing with the BSP and ran into this very problem too. I was actuall...

Still not the right color scheme, but consider the Arturia BeatStep Pro: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BeatStepPro Check out what jsharpphoto did with his where he posted a couple photos on page 81 of the "Post your latest purchase!!" thread: http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic....

Re: Little Phatty production changes
Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the changes have been to the Little Phatty over time. I have a Stage I, s/n 382, and it has the front panel graphics painted onto the metal, though I've read later units have a printed sticker (eg in this thread ). Any idea when this change took place? Also I be...

Re: Polychain question driving 2 slim phatties
If the Little Phatty has an interesting price tag, don't wait. If you don't feel you made the right decision, you'll be able to sell it with little to no loss. Also, make sure your Slims have the same and latest firmware, as some polychaining bugs have been removed. When the Little phatty is master...

Patch Cable sale
Just a little headsup that GC is having a Live Wire cable and adapter sale going on until Aug. 17. If you buy (2) cables you save 25%, (3) you save 35% and if you buy (4) or more you save 50%. I had to buy a couple cables and ended up buying (4) for about the same price as I would normally pay for j...
