Re: MG1 Filter Problem
Does the problem happen on the main out and headphone out? Did you verify that all of your connectors are connected properly? The 3 pin connector on the right corner of the lower pcb can slip out pretty easily. Try reflowing the solder joints on the filter slide pot. Does the filter pot do anything ...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
Haha, I want to make sure I'm as thorough as possible. The last thing I want is somebody screwing up their synth. A lot of them are very easy to do, but some are a bit advanced. I have a lot of tagboard layouts and schematics just scribbled on paper. The time consuming part is getting the schematics...

Re: Black Friday Orders?
So you bought some merch to make people think you're in a Moog dad-rock garage band? Then, you had issues from a small BLACK FRIDAY order when the company is swamped, but decided not to actually call in? Instead, you then come onto the Moog forum (filled with Moog fans) to bitch and moan? You want a...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
Back to the topic of filter cap mods, even though the MG-1 uses opamps in the following stage of the filter, I've found that the following modifications makes an improvement, IMO: Swapping the filter caps for .068uF Change the resistors in the ladder filter (except R77) to 150 Changing the coupling ...

Re: Powering up bypass status
I have wondered this same thing myself. Fortunately, I have special lights on mine which allow me to see at a glance whether I need to engage something or not. Stephen . I have a pedalboard with a looper. So, I keep all of my pedals engaged at all times. When you're pressed for setup time at a show...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
I'm getting pretty close to finishing up on testing all of the mods. Is there anything I'm missing on my list that anybody would suggest? PERFORMANCE MODS Replace wrong resistors back to capacitors according to schematic Minimoog Filter mod - Increase filter coupling cap values, lower input impedanc...

Re: Powering up bypass status
I asked customer support about this around a year ago and they said no. I wonder if there is a code change that could be performed in one of their midi updates? It's a little strange that they don't all have the same bypass state when powered on. It's just another thing you have to remember when you...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
I really do love the synth. I guess that's why I'm looking so deeply into it. Sometimes I forget about the big picture when focusing on the details.

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
I get what you're saying. I am planning on buying a Model D. And I don't believe I'll transform this synth into something as nice as a vintage Minimoog. I've contemplated building some of the DIY modules, but I seem to be set on this personal goal of getting the Mg-1 the best it can be. Emphasis is ...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods
You guys are blowing me away here. The information in these posts are amazing. Thank you. So, first I'd like to focus on understanding the feedback circuit on the MG-1. I'm still diving in here and am not an engineer, so I hope you don't mind questions in laymans terms. The feedback circuit that I s...

MF-101 + Microphone Into Synth
I'm not sure if this has been posted before. Today I hooked a microphone into my MF-101 audio input. Then put the Envelope out into various inputs of my MG-1 Synth. I thought the Pitch CV was interesting. The louder you yell, the higher the pitch raises. It ended up sounding similar to a Theramin. C...
