The endless knobs are pretty easy to get used to. the downside is you can't see at a glance where your settings are but it's workable. The worst thing is they are a little sensitive to touch, if you brush against them a bit too hard the params will change, but that is something else you get used to...

I have a P08 and it can sound vintage or modern, it has no built in fx but is easily programmed. Another bd to consider would be a used Andromeda. One thing to note is that the P08 was never meant to be the "new P5" it can sound close but a retro P5 was not what it was designed for. If you...

never said anything about reprogramming the OS, but pot mapping etc. and setting up new patches is akin to programming for patches.
