Re: Oberheim OB-X resurrection
This page is a really great resource - thank you! Bookmarked! And thank you kindly for not bashing my beloved OB-8;) I've never played an OB-X but owned and sold the OB-Xa (simply not for me), (re)bought a really nice OB-8 and added an Xpander last year...great stuff!

Re: Moog SUB PHATTY
I'd like to give well-deserved kudos to Marc's SP demo videos as well :) As much as I lusted after a Memorymoog replacement this season (at this point I'd settle for a highly competent repair tech in the Southwest US/New Mexico area! Anyone?), I think the Sub Phatty is going to enjoy a place of hono...

Re: 'Keyboard Amps'
I'd like to second the QSC PA option, even a single powered speaker is going to run rings around a typical amp. Super quality, wide frequency response and very robust. Unless you really want the signature sound of a particular amp, in which case I'd try before you buy, for sure. I used to gig with a...

Re. the 2-note sax thing, that must be what I heard, then? I thought there was some technique involving 'biting down' & splitting the reed, at least that's how I heard it described by the saxophonist I watched do it...still didn't seem musically useful in a conventional setting? Thanks for the f...

But if you want to play Jump, I'm sure everything will make you happy. Well now, Marc, that makes it sound as if you've never played Jump  Polysynth aficionados know that only an OB-Xa/8 will do...after all, there are fine shades of these things. We don't send a Tele to do a Les Paul's job, r...

Re: Overcoming writer's block
One resource I turn to as a source of random inspiration, is Brian Eno's "Oblique Strategies." For folks who don't know what they are, long story short, it's sort of like a deck of cards containing thought-provoking suggestions, aphorisms and phrases designed to 'jog the mind', to quote th...

Re: Time for a Buy/Sell/Trade section?
Yep - very interested in seeing a Buy/Sell/Trade section, here. That would be fun. Honestly, I'm more turned off to participating here by the squawking, than I am the occasional post from a seller - no offense to anyone in particular, I just hate that bleep. A Buy/Sell/Trade section would hopefully ...

Voltor, thanks for that additional info, I didn't know that; that's something a little different, and I do see how that would raise a concern.

Re: Who has found themselves on MatrixSynth or synthtopia?
I'm a big fan of Matrixsynth, have exchanged the occasional friendly email and have had a few pics & ebay auctions posted; one year for St. Patrick's Day, he posted a pic of my Maple Jade Voyager, because hey, green synth:) Folks can debate the fair use doctrine (I'm not going to in this forum, ...

Re: What do all you 'foogers think of the DSI Prophet?
Just a quick reply, I've got one alongside a Voyager & a few other classic polys and I love it:) It now serves as the main controller for almost everything else (using the aftertouch on the P08's keyboard to sweep the filter on the Memorymoog or the Jupiter 8 via a Kenton MIDI>CV box, is especia...

Actually (glancing quickly at the title of the thread), if Moog ever does a virtual analog hardware instrument, I think 'Moog Heresy' would be the ideal name
