Re: RE: Mini / Multi - Home Recording (FX)?

I do very much like the SOUND of your SoundCloud offering. You created a pleasing sonic environment and everything (to me) sounded pretty much crystal clear. l Hey thanks, Paul! Obviously that "soundcheck" (uhh... perhaps all my SC stuff) is there for 'demonstration purposes only'. ...

Re: RE: Mini / Multi - Home Recording (FX)?

Most synthesizers sound quite good recorded directly (unlike an electric guitar), so the need for added effects on them is less critical. TIFWIW. ^This is perhaps The Big Secret to a good recording, creating the best sound possible as early early in the recording chain as possible. Want a good soun...

Re: Which Moog to buy

I have the Slim Phatty and the Sub37 and while I do think they each sound different, I can tell you the Sub37 is actually the smoother sounding of the two. The harsh/noise-oriented reviews online are misleading, because the Sub37 does classic Moog-creamy very well IMHO. I've posted this before, but ...

Re: other sources for CV signals

Not an effect pedal, but the Arturia MicroBrute provides multiple CV sources and some sync-to-MIDI options. I use it mostly as a CV source, but like its tone as a synth, too.

I'd like to see Sub64 and Sub73 models with more than just extended keyboards, but extended sequencer functions (more lights in more rows), multiple MIDI Outs and overall set-up to be an awesome controller in addition to its mono-synth awesomeness.

Fifty-Percent ownership in Moog Inc. changed hands today!

At the Moog synthesizer factory in Asheville, N.C., on Tuesday, Michael Adams, the company’s owner and chief executive, wanted to share some life-changing news with the entire staff. “I’ve sold half the company,” he told them. Anxious silence descended among the tight-knit group, many of whom feel ...

Yeah! Totally agree about that snare sound.

I really enjoyed that a lot. The whole Moog website is excellent in design and content, and that Sound Lab is an incredible setting.

Sorry to heat about this. :( It is a known issue and happened to me, too. It is an easy fix, but you'll need to get the Sub37 back to Moog for service.

Re: Sub 37 Case?

RE: MOOG logo on case. Played a gig in April where the bassist in the other band used a Little Phatty, and also had the same soft-case I use with the same MOOG stencil on the side. Come load-out time, my lovely wife decides to help, and as you might guess, picked up the wrong case and walked right o...

Re: Should I keep only the Sub37?

I'm honestly a bit jealous of your sampling/looping capabilities. Seems like a great set-up, even with its limitations. I have an OTB sequencer, and an OTB recorder, and even a looper, but no sampling at all short of going back-in-the-box. Works OK for me, tho, because so much of my music is non-syn...

...keeping only the Octatrack and the Analog Rytm... I really do think listening to this if only for half a minute or so, is relevant for the discussion, since your choice of gear has a lot to do with kind of music you wanna make. https://soundcloud.com/circuitghost/analog-rytm-hipster-go-to-sleep ...

Re: Slaving a Beat Thang to a Sub 37

Well, if the BT doesn't have an option to ignore MIDI Start/Stop then a work-around might be to create an empty pattern that 'plays nothing' during those sections when you want to stop the BT.

Thanks for the headsup will check this out just need to find my 3.5mm jack cable. Did you have to amplify the mobile phone signal like the app description states? Read no instructions, just ran the app and plugged the headphone out to the Pitch CV IN of the Slim Phatty. With Volume set right at the...

Re: Slim Phatty - 2 modulations?

It's just called LFO Generator and the description says he built it to control a MircoBrute. So, yea the Microbrute one. Very simple app. Oh boy! It all gets so much better this morning! I decided to record a 5Hz Sine wave to a looper pedal, and that is working perfectly. This suggests I can record ...

Re: Slim Phatty - 2 modulations?

BUMP! :D Have been enjoying the Slim Phatty for a few weeks now, and to be honest the single LFO started to limit me. So I began sending the CV LFO out from a MicroBrute over to the Slim Phatty, to put more modulation into the sound—usually just slow pitch or filter mods to make things fatter. But t...
