Re: Little Phatty & Guitar Pedals - Testing
There's nothing better than a string of stomp boxes between a Phatty and a sound system. I use a trio of analog Maxon modulation effects, chorus, phaser, and flanger, all to great effect. But a good old digital delay is used most of all, along with a sweet EHX Black Finger compressor, which adds alo...

Re: Private Messages Stuck in Outbox
I have also recieved a message saying I had a new PM, but found nothing when I went to look at it. Sounds glitchy to me, but we all know this is the one forum on the entire interwebs that's 100% analog.

Re: Rough and squeaky action on one of the keys.
Yeah, My Stage II is certainly among my favorite synths, but worst keybed of all my synths. It is afterall, the poorman's Moog.

Re: Broken freqbox...?
Agreed with the above answers, and want to add, be sure of where the input is coming from, ie: the SP's output. Make sure there's no trouble there too, otherwise, sounds like your FreqBox is freqin' out, and needs help. Good luck with it.

Yes, agreed, that V4B with a good bass cab should sound real nice.

Re: vocals through LP
Correct, and even then, you'd only be able to process the vocals through the Patty's filter and envelopes, not the VCO's.

Re: Minitaur vs. Slim Phatty
Your point is understood, but you're missing the real point. If you want an "all-in-one", you want the Taurus 3. This new Minitaur is an affordable MIDI device. Most users would already own a controller of some sort. If you want one, you'll need a controller-OR a set of Taurus pedals.

Re: Minitaur vs. Slim Phatty
No presets, but you can tweak (program) to your hearts content. The original Mini-Moog, and the modulars before it, also had no patch storage, but rather, sheets of paper to write your patches on. The Minitaur follows that tradition- and you could create your own Patch cheat sheets easily enough. I ...

Re: Electric bass with SP?
Yeah, short of downloading a new preset, bass is easy to program fresh. Just set the OSC octave to it's lowest setting, tweak the filter to taste, and add whatever else you want to it. Moog bass patches should already be installed on your Phatty though, you can always tweak them into submission.

Re: Remake this sound?
Assign filter cutoff to the mod wheel, or just sweep the cutoff manually. Or are you looking for it to happen automatically? You'd need a digital synth with a big mod-matrix.

Re: No after touch? (and "hello"+first impressions)
Moog is not like most other synths, and that can seem either good or bad, depending on your personal perspective. What it leaves out is trivial compared to what it does include, and that's the sound. You won't get that filter anywhere else, though many other makers try to simulate it. If you want th...
