Re: Firth Of Fifth Genesis
Working from my aging memory, try using a variable PW pulse instead of a saw. The ARP Pro-soloist had a rather thin woody sound as I recall. I'm guessing around 25% duty cycle, but your ear will tell you when you are close. Stack 2 an octave apart. The ARP filters were a bit thin also, so you may ne...

Re: KarnEvil 9 - 3rd Impression sequencer....
Very nice work. The KD 9 Suite is my all time fav! I'd always assumed Emo used an inverted slow decaying EG to gradually increase the speed of the oscillator clocking the 960. That's how I performed that part live back in the late 70s in my ELP cover band.

If you are running through a DAW, the Slate VSX system is phenomenal.

Re: Next 1.5 update, when ?
I've also had the hanging notes over midi problem when sequencing from Cubase or my Cirklon. It seems like it is not reliably responding to midi note off. I have to reset it (Octave + and _ simultaniously is all notes off) occasonally just to make it stop. Very annoying on a flagship instrument. Tru...

Re: Spring reverb recommendations?
A relatively inexpensive 5u reverb module with a spring tank. I have one and it does the "sprang thang" pretty well. A little eq before and/or after really helps.

Re: Individual Modules
What do you want to pay for a 904C? Two times of what price? Have you ever looked at the circuit drawing of a 904C? Sure I could build a 904C, or buy a clone, but that isn't my point. Here's the thing. I want one for deeply personal reasons. I got my IIP in the 70s. I was a kid and bought it with m...

Re: minimoog model d’s S-trigger with keystep
I think the Keystep gate out needs to be set to STrig whIch is what the Moog requires to fire the EGs. Manual at 10.9.4.3. You will also need a mini-phone to synch jones cable. YOu can make one, or DotCom sells a 1/4" to synch jones https://synthesizers.com/qmvs.html which you could use with a ...

Re: Individual Modules
Hello Erik! LTNS Hope you and yours are safe and healthy. I 100% agree that makes no sense. There would be so many ways to do this that would be very profitable for Moog, but for one reason or another, they just blow it off. Perhaps they are just trying to shore up the price of vintage and reissue s...

I wouldn't hold my breath... I've been begging for individual modules for (literally) 30 years. Don't think is is ever going to happen.

Re: Moog Model 10 Tuning and Warm Up Time
I was thinking about this earlier today. It is very possible that some of your tuning issues are due to temperature fluctuations. In 79, I was crazy enough to use the IIP on stage at the Troubadour in LA. Every time a spotlight was on me, it also hit the Moog and the tuning when to s*&t. Last ti...

Concur that was probably not a ream Moog module. The originals all used spring reverbs.

Re: Moog Model 10 Tuning and Warm Up Time
My vintage 2P has 2 sets of 1x901a/3x901b. Takes about an hour to settle in before they stabilize. I bought the system from Sound Arts in the 70s and they added a low tracking pot to the back of each of the 901bs. I get about 5 solid octaves. My Cirklon also has assignable scaling per CVIO out, and ...

Re: 904a and Minimoog filter.
The 904a and Minimoog filters are different and sound different. (I have both.) The "Mini sound" is partially due to oscillators overloading the mixer and then the filter input. The CP3 mixer in the modulars can overload, but it still doesn't sound the same. There are going to be subtle di...

Re: Moog One FEATURE Requests
If I had one wish for the One, it would be to increase the multitimbrel capability. I'll explain... I am a much better guitar player than I am a keyboard player. I've been playing guitar synths since the 70s. In fact, my Moog Model IIP was primarily used as a guitar synth using a 360 Systems Slavedr...
