A very interesting take on it, especially as you have changed the rhythmic structure completely and managed to make it work. Very well done. Oh, and I might add, that I am, generally, no fan of remixes!

Analog Days...

Just finished reading this great book, and I am wondering if anyone knows of any others that are worthwhile? I'd also be interested in DVDs about the early days of synthesizer technology.

You could always buy Logic Pro (if you are considering getting a Mac), as this features a very good vocoder.

I think this is absolutely right, with regard to both robots and anologue synth sounds. Eighties synths which tried (far too hard) to sound like the real instruments they were emulating, sound really quite bland by comparison, nowadays. They also discouraged creativity, by offering banks of presets ...

This is absolutely correct, except that you do not use a Multi-Instrument, as the Voyager is not multi-timbral. Use a Standard Instrument object.

I have followed (and contributed to) this thread with interest, and having weighed things up, I think you're right on all counts, Mal. I, personally, have never dealt with RL Music, apart from asking if they could get me an AE when I was first interested in getting one. Richard came back to me very ...

Here, here. I have always thought that vintage synth prices were a rip off. Afterall, thirty year old technology might sound good, but it's hardly likely to be reliable, which in the long (or possibly short) term, means spending even more of your hard-earned on repairs, which may well be undertaken ...

Yes, smoking and electronics don't mix (no pun intended), and in any case, smoking will only curtail the length of time you'll have to play your synth. Here endeth today's lesson.

I ordered my maple AE from the States and still paid less than I would have done if I'd ordered a standard AE from Turnkey (minus Moog logos). The process was simple and I had no problems at all. Highly recommended. :)
