Favorite keyboardist/synthesist?

thewaag wrote: Two of my absolute keyboard heros are Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman. Duh--I wonder why that is?? I have been trying to find a way to get either of them to town in concert for the past year and a half...

It gave me this poll idea...

I ordered mine direct from Moog, I figured it was worth the price difference if I did not have to deal with the Sweetwater/AMS/MusiciansFriend hassle/delay, cut out the middleman. I have nothing but good things so say about everyone I've talked to at Moog, they can have my extra $30.

I have never had better customer service than with Moog. Never was it stated that Moog customers would be kept out of such service without a MoogSpace account. The fee is pretty nominal and prevents those who would otherwise set up a free account to fill the space with self-promotional spam from doi...

I will use it as a standalone VCO to interfere with my modulars and other foogers. But... processing vocals and guitar will probably bring me the most joy.

Already ordered. I have been waiting for a stand alone Moog VCO for awhile. Every comment card "A VCO!" If I didn't buy it now, I'd invalidate all future product suggestions. I can't wait, looks very versatile.

During Namm weekend I called Amos at Moog to ask about the MF-107 and he said they used precision resistors (1% I think) to compensate for not being able to fit all of the circuitry of a Voyager or LP VCO inside. He said they tested it and the prototype seemed to track fine with the LP. He also conf...

Yeah, I already have stuff like that (well, nobody has the 107). I was thinking of a live situation, where multiple monophonic tracks were needed. Not wanting to have three keyboards on stage, just one live keyboard and backing things sequenced through multiple tone modules. Waldorf Pulse... Novatio...

Oh yeah, and it could be MIDI daisy chained for polyphony.

Little Phatty Tone Module

I want a Little Phatty tone module. Think: Yamaha's TX7 to their DX7. It could be programmed through: a Little Phatty keyboard (front panel), software editor, midi cc#'s. It should be as small as possible (one rack space?). Maybe one knob w/ a cryptic 2 digit led display (so you could kinda edit stu...

With the Moog Control Processor, you could plug a homemade ribbon controller into the red powered multi-jack and control the LP (through the LP's CV In jack). Since the CP-251's red jacks are powered, you could build your own passive resistive strip (one that would act similar to how a 100K potentio...

I can understand the aesthetic argument. If you love everything about the Minimoog, you will always wonder if you made the right decision after buying a Voyager. Parts are a bit scary (capacitors go bad), I am not familiar enough with the guts of most of my equipment to feel secure with my collectio...

Re: Waveform Knob Legend

SteveD wrote:Thanks for your input - you're not the only one with that opinion - so we've already planned on changing the legend around the waveform knob to show the waveforms a la the Voyager.

Good suggestion ...unless that significantly postpones the release date.
