So, what you are saying is, with the pitch wheel centered and not touching it, the pitch goes high when you adjust the amount in the menuing? Does this do it on all patches? Sounds like pot mapping of bend amount to a MOD buss.

That sounds like envelopes. Set the sustain of both envelopes all the way up. Since you are tieing all the notes together the sustain below full on will let the sound fade at the decay rate to the sustain level.
