Re: MF102 Mix knob going beyond 100% modulation problem

That's totally normal - here's why: The ring modulator produces the sum and difference frequencies of the carrier osc. and the input, When the carrier is subsonic - say .1Hz, and the input is audible - say 100 Hz, the sum and difference frequencies are 99.9Hz and 100.1 Hz. You hear it as tremolo - b...

Re: New XL owner. Questions...

Hi - @ latgid on - thanks for remembering that tip - it works pretty darn well - and because it's pre-filter the extra fatness from this way of getting feedback doesn't get affected by the settings of the filter or output VCA... @ Lymtronics and Mr Shave - I really don't recommend using the headphon...

Re: Applying a pitch-envelope while 1 is already used for fi

It is possible in a tricky way w/ the new firmware. If you set up the LFO to retrigger w/ a keypress, set it to a triangle, saw or ramp wave and a really slow Rate. It can be a pseudo-Envelope Generator to modulate the pitch, filter, osc. 2 or wave Details are in the user notes I believe. Hope that ...

Re: How to get LFO to trigger

Hi - In the EDIT mode menu there is a feature called Filt Env. Gate Source and Vol Env. Gate Source. This selects the Gate Source for the EGs when the Env. Gate switch is in the "ON/EXT" position. You can select S+H Gate (normalled @ the tip of the S+H Gate jack to LFO Square wave) to sele...

Re: OS 3.5 question

Hi Mark -
You can go straight to 3.5 from 3.0
When you get there check out the Touch Surface Sample and Hold feature - it clocks the output of the Touch Surface to the LFO. It's a pretty cool thing and might be a cool tool for your music!

Cheers,

Really fun - I love when the womp comes back in around 2:30 and starts going into the audible frequency range.

Re: Filter Knob & LED Ring Issue?

Do you have a MIDI loop happening? If I recall correctly, if you have Local control ON and have your MIDI echoed thru a DAW, then the MIDI CC from the cutoff knob "doubles" the position of the LED. The solution: don't echo MIDI through the DAW, or Turn Local Control OFF - depending on your...

Re: 69 dollar to backup and update you SP?

Presets can be exported or imported by using any program that can send/ receive MIDI SysEx messages. For mac - you can use SysEx librarian, For PC there is MIDI-Ox. Firmware updates are also done using MIDI SysEx - I believe due to the size of the files, future updates will have their own applicatio...

Re: MP-201 as a "preset bank" for Moogerfoogers?

Hello - I never thought of it as a boring application - I always thought the ideas of controlling multiple parameters from a single gesture in an intelligent musical way was exciting, but well then, I guess I'm kind of a nerd that way... :) So translating knob positions into Voltages for the MP-201 ...

Re: MP-201 as a "preset bank" for Moogerfoogers?

Hi placido - Yes you can use the MP-201 this way. Even more powerful than that is the fact that the heel and toe positions of the pedal can both be "presets" and by rocking the pedal back and forth you are continuously morphing between the two presets. So for each moogerfooger preset you c...

Re: latch toggle between 2 cc values?

Hi Ted - With the way I read and understood the manual I think that maybe you need to activate the Play function to turn off the overdub(?) I also think that the cc#50 value 127 starts recording a new loop every time the M9 receives this MIDI message. Or maybe another CC#50 value 0 toggles the Overd...

Re: latch toggle between 2 cc values?

Hi Teddy - I grabbed a unit and tried it out - It does definitely send the correct values - 0 and 127 when you set a Channel to the settings we discussed. I attached a screen shot using MIDIOx showing the MIDI output of a channel set to these settings. The only difference is I'm not using the USB MI...

Re: latch toggle between 2 cc values?

That looks like you have everything set OK - but you should check the MIDI channel on both devices for this message. This is different than the Channel Output you mention below. If they don't match I bet the Line 6 will ignore the message.
Hope that helps

Re: MP-201 Foot pedal calibration

Hello Shep - The MF-101 Filter Cutoff input is set so that it only sweeps ~50% as much as the knob. Originally when we designed it - we thought a lot of guitar players would be using it and the musical bandwidth of the typical guitar signal is less than the full sweep of the VCF. so we limited the e...
