Dancing Filter Knob

Let me preface this by saying I use the minitaur in live performance...50+ gigs a year...and I use it in studio another 100 days a year...so over the past couple years the baby has gotten a lot of use. I've noticed that some of the knobs are getting a little wonky, in particular the filter cutoff kn...

Re: Moog Minitaur problems, unresponsive support and no solu

probably not the answer you are looking for...but for the most part Minitaur firmware/librarian is rock solid on Mac OSX 10.10...i never have connection issues. just be sure to connect minitaur before launching the editor. that usually ensures proper performance for me.

Re: Minitaur Note Range

it's a hardware limitation unfortunately, and it cannot be changed with a firmware update. that is my understanding. i suppose it was to keep costs lower, or to perhaps empha$ize that the minitaur is a bass instrument (though i use it for baritone leads from time to time as well)

Re: Preset tildas

i use an MPC1000 sequencer to change patches usually, I wish that when I sent a patch change to the minitaur from MPC while it is connected to the editor via USB, that the editor would also reflect that I've changed the patch...

Any word on how the beta testing for editor v3.1 is going? Looking forward to the official release.

Re: Minitaur presets from akai MPC 500/1000

i also use an MPC1000 w/ minitaur loading presets works alright MOST of the time sometimes things can get a little wonky, when switching from sequences that use presets to those that don't. sometimes I prefer to not use presets and use sysex to send commands to change minitaur settings mid-sequence....

Re: Minitaur Decay/Release not responding to MIDI CC

CRICKETS....

anyone else have issues controlling Decay/Release with MIDI CC?

I'm super confused as to how these two parameters are linked. is it just not possible with "Mode 2" to control them separately?

Re: Minitaur Decay/Release not responding to MIDI CC

Anybody? :)

More than anything I'd love to know if it is possible to independently control Decay/Release when using Mode 2, using CC....Amos?

Minitaur Decay/Release not responding to MIDI CC

I'm having some difficulties controlling the release and decay parameters, on both the VCF and the VCA of the minitaur, using MIDI CC from an AKAI sampler. I send data to CC #24 and #29 and it doesn't affect the parameter. All other CC's work fine. When I physically move the knob, the Release/Decay ...

Re: Minitaur firmware update soon - your requests here pleas

I like the dump CCs command, it's quite useful, hopefully we don't lose that functionality. I don't have a huge issue with the way saving is handled now...I just don't ever have the need to save a preset to a different location, w/no readout of what preset I'm on I just don't find that useful. I don...

I agree with this WHOLE HEARTEDLY
The locating feature is nice, but i feel it's too complicated a sequence to be of any real use. I prefer the old manner.

Re: Minitaur firmware update soon - your requests here pleas

you cant have buttons operate differently. it's just really bad design to do that. that's just smug. agree to disagree, as it makes absolutely no difference to me. having buttons change state on release at all is "just really bad design" in my opinion. but i guess we should all bow down t...

Re: Minitaur firmware update soon - your requests here pleas

now ideally all lights should change immediately on PRESS DOWN. but because of the secondary features, it may be best to implement the LIGHT ON for BUTTON DOWN / PARAMETER CHANGE on BUTTON RELEASE for all buttons. Yes, but not on OSC 1 or OSC 2 waveform selectors! some fun effects can be had by tog...

Re: Minitaur firmware update soon - your requests here pleas

I took the Minitaur on stage last night. Opening for bigger band, so packed house. I give the Minitaur a B. It performed well...but the preset recalling system, when used in conjunction with MIDI CC is really not working for me when using an AKAI MPC1000 as the sequencer. It seems like the knobs wil...
