Re: post your voyager sounds
Hey Guys! I did an acoustic/electronic fusion of a Haydn string quartet piece with violin and the moog voyager. I mostly played the violin I part on violin and the moog handled the rest (=violin II, viola, and cello parts). ;) http://soundcloud.com/stalkingpanda/haydn-with-a-twist-string I f'ing lo...

Re: Perfect Partner for Voyager?
I have a prophet 08, and it is a wonderful complement to the voyager. Some folks on these forums don't like the Prophet 08, but I think it's great. It has a different sound from the moog stuff, of course. Don't know if you're a fan, but Radiohead uses the same combination on there last album and cur...

Re: Patching the Voyager XL
HI Modeerf, Just confirming what stiiiiiive said. When you use the mixer/out filter in insert cable, you will only here delay while the VCF is open. If you are playing a sound that is short, staccato rather than sustained, then that means that the VCF is closed once the sound stopped, so you won't h...

Re: Voyager PlugSE Logic Problem
Just finally got an email from soundtower that resolves this for me, though it was a bit snarky, I have to say. Maybe things are starting to change over there?

Re: Voyager PlugSE Logic Problem
I'm very happy for you! I am also furious at their erratic behavior --ignoring some customers while doing the obviously appropriate thing with others. . . I'm goin to start an active campaign posting on forums that this company should be avoided until they fix my situation.

Re: Voyager PlugSE Logic Problem
Oh man. I know that this is a moog forum, but I just want to add my current situation with the Prophet editor librarian. It has a MAJOR problem in that the sequencing function is unusable (and it's the reason I bought the damn thing). Mark, from Soundtower, just keeps blaming it on Dave Smith. He sa...

Re: Moog Music's exaggeration...
. . .I actually wish that mine wasn't backlit. Here's a vote for no backlighting. I love the look of the solid black front panel, never been into the backlighting much. It doesn't strike me as a bad move letting the backlighting go in order to focus on making other great products. . . (no offense t...

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
Oh, and then there is the fact that the top edge of the Voyager says "XL" and has the obvious absence of the jacks that a Voyager would have and a XL would not have. Good eye, EMwhite! I vote for it being a joke. There's no reason for a real prototype to have the XL top, seeing how the le...

I was basically in your shoes a year ago, it's a steep learning curve, but sooooooo worth it! Now look at the gear list in your signature! Sonic infinity starts here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bfe9bHhSMNk I know! Singer/songwriter should be warned: once you start, watch out for your bank accou...

EricK, that was brilliant. Singer/songwriter, while you are reading about subtractive synths, try out the moog doodle: http://www.google.com/doodles/robert-moogs-78th-birthday You can get a basic feel for VCOs, VCFs, and VCAs there. Dude, I was basically in your shoes a year ago, it's a steep...

New Song With lots of Moog (voyager xl, mf 104m etc)
Hey guys, Here's a new song I've been working on. Lots of use of moog stuff: The kick drum, and most of the synth stuff is my voyager xl. Heavy use of Moogerfoogers on the guitar tracks (the only other effect is a bit of zvex fuzz factory), and I also ran my guitar through the voyager filters for a ...
