Re: LP originality

+1. The Voyager is a wonderful instrument but personally I went for the LP even though I could have afforded either. For me one of the biggest selling points was ergonomic -- I really like the visual feedback of the LED rings around the knobs, enough that it counterbalanced the smaller number of con...

Re: Midiox Win 7 alternative?

Thanks for the reply Doug. Is your Win 7 a 64-bit version? I haven't tried Midiox yet because everywhere I look it seems to be described as a 32-bit application and I thought those just wouldn't run reliably in a 64-bit OS. Although if you have been doing it, maybe I'll give it a shot.

Midiox Win 7 alternative?

I'm hoping I can ask this here since it isn't (just) a Moog question but for me it's related. I've been using Midiox with my LP and MP-201 any time I need to interface them with the computer (backing up patches, looking closely at MIDI data just to understand what the devices are doing, etc.). But n...

Re: Hey, can anyone test this new MP201 firmware?

Thanks again for getting this done Amos. It can't have been easy to fit it in given all the other projects and the now-discontinued status of the MP201, so it's doubly impressive that you and Moog Music didn't let it drop like so many other companies would do.

Re: Worth it to go Duophonic?

I don't have a duophonic Phatty setup but I do have one with Mophos (module + keyboard). "Worth it" is always subjective, and going duophonic with Mophos is a little cheaper than it would be with Phattys, but I'm finding it even more useful than I thought it would be. It doesn't get anywhe...

Re: Ok so i have got my Little Phatty

I don't know how likely it is to help -- just mentioned it because I noticed it. But as a rule it's good to match cable types as closely as possible. If you're going to buy some stuff anyway, and your interface has XLR inputs, you'd probably get the best results by using a 1/4" TS cable from th...

Re: Ok so i have got my Little Phatty

When you say you're using a balanced 1/4", you mean TRS? One issue might be that the Audio Out from the Phatty is designed for a TS 1/4" jack, and I would guess from the guitar icon on your interface that it is expecting one as well. So if you haven't tried it already, maybe it would help ...

Have you made sure that the Output On/Off switch on the front panel isn't set to "Off"?

Re: Confusion. A few questions concerning the Model D.

FWIW, as your keyboard skills develop you will probably find that it matters less and less for general playing. Most of the time, unless I'm using a particular priority for a particular effect, I can play a long time without even noticing how its set up.

A few have cycled through Spaceman here in Ottawa over the past few years (two that I remember). They seem to go for about $200, but sit around for a really long time before selling.

Re: Phatty Tuner C-change, avoidable?

OK, thanks for looking into it and I look forward to hearing what you find. For now I've got a workaround -- it turns out I can directly enter scales by editing the .dat file, and that way they all load properly and where I want them when the software starts. Eventually I might run out of spots thou...

Phatty Tuner C-change, avoidable?

Hi Everyone, I just updated my LP Stage and started playing around with the Phatty Tuner software. I notice that whenever I create a new scale, use "save as," and then later load the saved version, it has changed the lowest C to be 1.0 cents above normal, i.e., 1.000 shows in the "cen...

Re: MP-201 LFO Initial Value: Bug?

Thanks for the replies. In the time since my last post I had the issue confirmed by Rosser in the Moog service department, and he passed the information along to Amos. Right now it looks like Amos is extremely busy with the Phatty firmware update, so I haven't asked him for a followup. But I'm plann...

Re: hiss for stage II

Without any scale indicated on the axes it's really impossible to say. That signal as shown could be massively loud or it could be inaudibly minute. If you can provide a plot with the frequency and amplitude domains both clearly labeled then someone might be able to answer.
