Re: Matriarch - Sonic Character
This is not a good way to compare imo. Despite both being Moog these are 2 completely different synths. If you want to compare punch or tone or whatever you need to match up the sounds as best you can. Doesn't matter how the settings on one compares to the other. Also they both need to have the same...

Re: Matriarch - Clipping
Very interesting and informative - thanks! I was experimenting mostly in mono as it's easier to get sync on the scope. But what you've stated makes sense. I did play with different filter cutoff frequencies and observed various "artifacts" but didn't associate them with clipping. And yes t...

Re: Matriarch - Clipping
When playing a chord I notice there is some clipping/overdrive happening - is this normal with analogue synthesisers? Other analogue synths will be different. The Moog ladder filter is known for its rich overdriven sound, which is perfect for monophonic playing, not so good when the note intervals ...

Re: Memorymoog Revived!
What an awesome post - congrats Mike! And yes, it does get easier. Always new things to learn - even when you think you've seen it all. Or when you think you've seen the worst.
Very happy for you - enjoy!

Re: Voyager + VX351 with Moogerfoogers and CP251
I can’t help with reference material. But you need not worry about damage. Moog uses current limiting resistors on their outputs so everything is protected electronically. Still it’s good practice to only connect inputs to outputs and outputs to inputs. Give it a try- you’ll be comfortable in no time.

Re: Memorymoog "DEAD OSC" on all voice cards OSC3
Yeah last time I did a minor cal I "lost" one of the oscillators for a while. It is a bit frustrating. Once you find them again then it's a little bit of range a little bit of scale repeatedly until they get where they need to be. Sounds like you're almost there. Very cool.

Re: Can the expression pedal be used with the VX-352?
Yes, exactly. You can also connect Control Voltage (CV) signals (example LFO output from another synth) if you have them available.

Re: Can the expression pedal be used with the VX-352?
Yes- that is the polarity switch. I believe the EP-2 has a fixed cable and the EP-3s is removable.

Re: Can the expression pedal be used with the VX-352?
Either one should work. The EP3 has a polarity switch. Try the other position if you have it. Also can you confirm the pedal works with another device?

Re: Can the expression pedal be used with the VX-352?
It should work on both the keyboard version and RME. Which pedal?

Re: Memorymoog "DEAD OSC" on all voice cards OSC3
It’s been years since I’ve touched the filters. I don’t remember any specific problems but I don’t recall ever doing a full on filter cal. Only thing I can think of is make sure your octave switch is set to high.

Re: Matriarch as MIDI controller - Sustain Pedal Issues
Just tried it out monitoring the midi data. On a "normal" controller holding the sustain pedal does not prevent Note Off messages from being transmitted. The sustain pedal will continue to hold those notes until the pedal is released. The Matriarch prevents notes off messages from being tr...
