Re: Stomp Box Pedals that Work With Synths (Digital, Analog)
HI all, (forever lurking, just the occasional post) Regarding FreqBox and Vermona Retroverb Lancet: I have exactly this combination, works excellently. It's one of two parallel processing chains hanging off my Etherwave Pro (the other one is MF102/101/103). The FreqBox vco cv is driven by the EPro p...

Re: MF-107 Freqbox anybodys favorite?
The FreqBox seems to be the least understood of the MFs. Apart from being a useable VCO, the FM side of things means that it can be used as a kind of analogue 2-operator FM oscillator, leading to all kinds of Yamaha FM-type sounds done in the analogue domain. Used in this way, it's amazing, not simp...

Re: Theremin only high frecuencies
Most likely that one of the coils in the pitch antenna circuit has gone open circuit. If not this, then an open circuit to one of these coils on the printed circuit board. This happened to my EWPro once several years ago, Rudi fixed it in (under warranty)about 10 seconds (I live in Germany), but onl...

Re: ordered a freqbox , do i also need a ring mod??
Hi, I'm using what will be exactly your setup, if you get RM as well as FreqB. Highly recommended: does wonderful things for a shakuhachi, a theremin and a Rhodes (the instruments that I put through this stuff): FreqBox -> RM -> VCF -> Phaser, all controlled by CP251 and a few other voltage sources ...

MF101 - modification for separate audio signal to env.fol.
Hi everyone, Sorry about the delay in getting this info up - I promised it several weeks ago. The question was how to modify an MF101 to accept a second audio signal in to the envelope follower, so that the filtering of the main signal can be enveloped by a second audio signal. I did this to my MF10...

Hi Everyone, This is a super-easy mod. Way back in the Big Briar days, when I'd just bought my 101, I wanted to do this, e-mailed Big Briar, and received a response from Bob Moog himself, telling me what to do. I'm in the process of moving house at the moment, and the docs are packed up for the next...

Hi everyone, This response, about envelope generators etc, might get a bit theoretical and philosophical, be warned... About EGs in Yamaha FM synths - agreed, this is a strong point, something that I loved and love about using these instruments. From my point of view, however, what the FreqBox and o...

Hi everyone, Been offline for a while... A couple of answers to previous comments. Basically, the FreqBox, when used as I suggested in my first post, becomes a relative of the synthesis method used in the DX7s etc. The Yamaha implementation is more complex, with 6 (or 8 in the FS1R) oscillators per ...

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on this list for a while now, but someone outed me on the Theremin forum, so I decided to come clean here as well. I play shakuhachi (my main instrument) and theremin, with several MFs as well as other toys. Amongst the MFs is a 107, and it surprises me that in all the...

Hi Everyone, I've been lurking on this list for a while, and Gordon has now dropped my name, so I decided it'S time to come out of the closet. My main instrument is shakuhachi, but I also play theremin, generally EWPro with a bunch of MFs and delay pedals attached, but also an EW standard, hotrodded...
