The expression "to make a mountain out of a molehill" comes to mind here..

Sub 37 on the cover of Sound On Sound mag (Nov)

Just finished reading the review of the Sub 37 in the november issue of Sound On Sound magazine, and they seem as excited as I am :)
It's a deep review that actually gave me a few tips and ideas on sound creation as well.

Re: Sub 37 - Are the knobs really MIDI?

Its been a while since I used Live, but I'm pretty sure you have to specifically enable your midi device (the sub37) as a "Remote" in the Live midi preferences first. From the manual: "...go to the MIDI/Sync tab in Preferences. This time, enable “Remote” for your controller’s input po...

Problem? On an analog synth, I would call that a feature! :D

Re: Turn off the linear beat frequency - possible?

yep that's pretty much the deal. there is actually a (virtual) detent around 12:00 on the Osc2 Frequency and Beat Freq knobs, so if it's at 12:00 then there is really zero detuning. The reason there isn't a physical detent is to make it easier to do very tiny adjustments near 12:00. I love this. Al...

Bank button and step sequencer connection - future update?

Comparing to older pictures of the front panel, I notice that mine has a line between the [Latch] button and [Bank] button, labeled step. Does anyone know if this is part of a future firmware update or something? Like maybe selecting sequencer step with the preset/bank buttons. Nothing is mentioned ...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

Distributing a firmware update as a sysex file means it can be sent from any platform that supports sending sysex data. Distributing firmware updates as applications for specific platforms means only platforms that can run those apps can be used to install the firmware update. I've been bitten befo...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

Here's my wish list so far for firmware updates: 1. There should be some way to select ’exact’ waveforms. If you know you want a square or sawtooth, the only way now is to listen and turn the knob until it sounds right. Maybe if you hold some button while turning the shape knobs, it snaps to fixed v...

Re: Sub 37 feature suggestions - firmware updates

I understand the desire for the display to show the setting of every knob, but this is a feature of the voyager and was never going to be a feature on the sub 37. It doesn't have to be a huge thing to show knob settings. There's a simple way this could be implemented with a firmware update: 1. When...
