I don't use FL but if you can record MIDI (not audio!) from the LP into FL, the USB connection is working in one direction.

I'm sure it's something in your FL MIDI preferences.

Another vote for an Electribe. I picked up a busted EM-1 for $40 recently...the sequencer (2 synth tracks, 1 drum track) works fine, the effects processor was borked. Ones with busted pots, bad audio outs, etc. are great candidates!
