Re: Age old dilemma...

What do you feel like you are lacking that precipitated you to expand? In other words, What do you want to accomplish with the extra modules? On one or two of the demos of the Moog 15 from NAMM, the guy kept referring to the 921Bs as "utility oscillators" which was so annoying. He looked ...

Re: Age old dilemma...

Just curious- what do you have now? IMO, the more oscillators and filters the better (though I'm sure others will differ in opinion here :) ) Keep up the good work! Best, ~Rezin Thanks. The best answer is to give you a link to my web site, http://analoguerealities.com/my-studio/ The foundation is a...

Re: Hissing from 907 Fixed Filter Bank

Good to know. Yes, I'm finding out that Moog designs are perhaps a bit more idiosyncratic than I had previously considered ;) The speaker is AC powered- I'll try moving it away and see what happens. PSU is feet away from the unit, and there's really nothing else around from an electronic point of v...

Re: System 55 Restoration

Dave,

Excellent and interesting as always. One question, did you notice if the inductors in the 914 are toroids or spool type?

Age old dilemma...

I'm adding VCOs, VCAs, and/or EGs to a Model 15 in an 8 space cabinet on top. I have 8 spaces I can use and also want to add a pair of VCAs and one or two envelope generators. which leaves me with 4 or 5 spaces for VCOs. What is the most useful? Two 921s? A 921 with a 921A and a pair of 921Bs? No 92...

Re: Specs of an original 905 reverb spring

Hi everyone, can anybody provide the specs of an original 905 reverb spring, meaning: - input impedance? - output impedance? - input insulation? - output insulation? - delay time? Thanks a lot Yes, when I did my clone you need a: 8 ohm in 2250 ohm out Grounded input Insulated output (very important...

Re: Hissing from 907 Fixed Filter Bank

You won't avoid some hiss. The final gain in the output stage in the 907 and 914 (I designed a clone of the 914 with custom inductors) is huge, in the hundreds. The biggest source of noise is probably thermal noise from the attenuator pots on the inputs. It's a design "feature". (Blasphemy...

I had seen your thread as I was searching to see if anyone else had problems. Wish I had found something that was clearly the reason.

Re: Right Channel Audio Output Died

The right channel on my Voyager keyboard no longer outputs any audio. Did I screw up some setting somewhere? I get both left and right outputs on the headphones. I did a "Factory Reset". Cycled power several times. I tried my headphones in both the right and left output jacks and only the...

Re: Moog 55 DIY

Thank you dlmorley and nicholas d. kent for your replies. I know it is a lot of work. I browsed most (perhaps all) of the possible alternative options available on the web. Not that I reputed them of less value; but the 55 is a dream of a lifetime for me. In the end, I decided to try to build a rep...

Re: RME owners ever wish you'd got a keyboard or viceversa,

I really wanted an Voyager but didn't have the money so got an LP. Now I know I MUST get a voyager. but the question is: does it matter which one? I've been thinking about getting a RME and controlling it with my LP, but I'm reluctant as if there is something holding me back. Have you ever wished y...

Re: separating a vx-351 from a cp-251

I got a cp-251 and vx-251 in a rack together used. I took them apart and out of the moog rack chassis or whatever it's called. The vx-351 had the power supply wire connected to the cp-251 so the cp-251 would be powered up as well when the 351 was connected to the voyager. I'm putting the wood panel...

Re: Weird problem when updating the Voyager

So I bought the Voyager editor and made backups of all the sound banks from with the editor. My MIDI interface works bi-directionally with the Voyager just fine (it both sends and receives MIDI). However, when I tried to upgrade to OS 3.4 (or 3.5) nothing happens. I follow these steps: 1. Ma...
