Looking forward to this!muksys wrote:I'm working on putting all of the mods I've done into a DIY package. I'll be making a bunch of vids detailing everything. Calibrating is one of em. Hopefully I'll have everything up and running by next weekend.

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide
That is correct. That's what's generating your white noise. Q1 is reverse biased with the collector left open. This uses the transistor in the same way a Zener diode is used in reverse breakdown.

Re: 104M noise
Strange. I thought my super delay was quieter than my old MF-104M.

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide
Updated section on low value capacitors. It turns out these are axial caps that look very similar to metal film resistors!

Re: MG1 Filter Problem
You can rule out the slide pots by de soldering them and using a different pot in their place. You could try jumping the emphasis pot with a wire/clip to see if bypassing it entirely gives you the effect you would normally have when fully up. I would verify voltages on all the ICs and transistors in...

Re: MIDI preset box for MF-104SD
You'd need to send a midi PC into your iOS devise. Then you can use a foot controller live. MidiDesigner recognizes the PC # along with the preset #. Pretty cool when you combine it with a foot controller like the GigRig to switch your pedals. My problem is that I have my iPad tied up in another ins...

Re: MIDI preset box for MF-104SD
Nice! That's always been a project I've been putting on the backburner. It's nice to have some direction for it. I've been using an iPad, but would definitely prefer a standalone box. Great work! Shoot me a message with what you'd like for one of these. Would be interested in buying one. Especially ...

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide
It needs to be 47K to be the same as the model D. Sorry for the wrong link! It's updated. 1M is in there now, so I wouldn't imagine 470K to sound bad by any stretch.
Did it already ship? Mouser is usually good about replacing the part of you get in touch with them before it ships out.

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide
Well, a lot of these are internal modifications or the rear panel jacks for hooking it into modular gear. If you completed every mod in the list, you'd have added 4 pots and 3 switches. I don't think that's too crazy.

Holy Guacamole!   Welp, there goes my weekend! Thanks for this!!!!!! Let me know how it goes haha! I'm really anxious to hear from somebody about the sound after trying the first two mods. My MG-1 sounds amazing now, but I don't want to start any hype about it since I'm biased...

Re: MG1 Filter Problem
There are 6 connectors on the bottom pcb. If you are talking about the four that are close together (next to the power section on the left), those are the power connectors. It wouldn't make any sense that your synth would work without those connectors. Maybe the caps held enough of a charge for a mo...

Re: MG1 Filter Problem
Do you have any pots handy you can use to swap out the slider? Even if it's just a standard pot to test it.
