Re: If you had to buy a Poly today?

I suggest a used Rhodes for Electric piano. A suitcase could get you the amp. You could use the effects loop for sounds. You could introduce another synth into that amp or another amp, one of the channel inputs on the side of the amp. This would be more economical than a Nord Lead II but they have g...

Re: If you had to buy a Poly today?

I would also like to know more about the DSI Prophet 08 and the Poly Evolver synths. Both sound like awesome products. I wonder how their bass sounds compare to the Minimoog Voyager, and whether or not they're merely good enough, or actually very good at mono-synth sounds. That being said I would al...

Re: Watch out Moog!

About the Plastic on the SH-1: I have an older SH-1. That thing is mostly plastic. So it's more true to its name than it would be to the name of the SH-9, if that one has lots of metal and wood on it. I love my sh-1. The oscillators are more stable than a Minimoog, and the synth has great sub bass s...

Re: Polyphonic Moog Feature Request

However, I'd like the best of both worlds (Apollo and Polymoog), but with more reliable components/internals that can possibly churn out the sounds of these two. I am also a fan of Keith Emerson and his use of the Apollo (and the monophonic Lyra) on the Emerson, Lake & Palmer album Brain Salad ...

Re: Polyphonic Moog Feature Request

I'd want computer interface capabilities, and maybe some non-traditional controller surface. A keyboard wouldn't be mandatory to me, I think as long as MIDI or USB controllability is built in, that would be great. Lots of oscillators, and at least 6 voices. Say, 2 oscillators per voice or even 3. I ...

Re: Mike Bucki gone?

There are speculations, and there are facts. IF Mike has gear that isn't his, and he's failed to contact the owner of that gear with a reasonable (to the owner) explanation of where it is, that is serious.

I thought it was counter-intuitive.. Because it was polyphonic? Nope that was ok, I'm talking about the filter section, primarily. It's been several years since I played a friend's Polymoog but as I recall I didn't like how it was split up into various bandwidths. Maybe some people enjoy that synth...

I wasn't impressed with the polymoog when I played it. I thought it was counter-intuitive. I just feel that Moog's best stuff has been the stuff that predates the venture into the major music-industry competitive herd, just because Sequential comes up with a great poly-synth is no reason to go whole...

Well I at least got a spirited response, didn't I? I think I'll check out that Tetra, now! But I'll need a controller for it, and if I find one I really like, I'd really appreciate it if Moog comes out with their own Poly synth in a rack or small version I can control via Midi. I'm just saying...

It also occurred to me that today, analog synths are no longer so forward-looking as they used to be. Whereas Bob Moog was considered a "synth pioneer," the analog synth--mono- and poly- -- are considered somewhat archaic, backward-looking instruments. Now they're considered a part of musi...

I wonder if they're working on a design for a polysynth that doesn't compete directly or indirectly with the minimoog Voyager? That might be a consideration and one of the reasons why they haven't come out with it. Limited market, and Moog already relies on synth buyers for the Voyager and the Littl...

Yes it is a round top and it does indeed sag depending on where you put it but the top is an elastic material that bounces back. But you can put it on there in such a way that it doesn't ride against the tone bars. You can also place things directly on top of the harp if you're careful. Just be sure...
