I had the pleasure of meeting Tim Blake and playing on the same bill some years ago. He was brilliamt, very nice and easy to talk to. Chris Franke was on the same bill. Couldn't say the same about him.... He took most of the soundcheck up with his hoards of keyboards and then...Mimed to the CD.....H...

He also used

He also used A Moog system 55. They were cool sounds on that album I must admit. I have loads of early RTF CD's. MUSICMAGIC is a great album. Very Bigband orientated with Gayle Moran(his lady) on vocals.. Must say........how crazy is the solo on "Duel of the tyrant and the Jester"? Incredible moog s...

analog vs digital

Well for me they both serve a purpose. I've spent hours on my other synths(JD800, JP8000, Supernova) trying to recreate Sounds that sound like ANALOG Giants of the synth world.... Then have tried to recreate acoustic instruments on my Voyager, Multi and MiniMoogs.....I've even tried to take samples ...

Don't panic

Joel, Mine does this too. I think it's audio leakage from the Analog circuitry(If I may be so bold as to say it....not knowing if I'm right or talking through the appendage I call my bum)..... I always put a noise gate on it. Pretty much do it with all noisy synths. Other leakage comes from the Back...

Touchpads

As for the touchpad, scratches are common on anything that's rubber. It's par for the course. I watched mine being built and saw the routines and checks these instruments go through and I would be really surprised if the machine left the showroom with wood filler or any kind of damage. Once they are...

The only thing I can think of is that the pitch wheel reseting would be the cure. Some stories I've heard said that earlier models never returned their pitch to A440 when changing patches until the pitch wheel had been used and then they default to normal pitch. If this is the case, the only thing I...

There are presets for sure

Yes guys and gals, there are presets. As I said in my previous post, I'm going to program a bunch of patches to submit to Moog, before the LP gets shipped. Still the preset debate will go on, but you can't demonstrate a machine if it has nothing to demonstrate. Also think of the normal musician who ...

My only concern( A LOGICAL ONE)

The only concern I have with presets not present in the LP is..... HOW THE HELL DO YOU SELL IT IN A SHOP? 99% of customers want to hear the capabilities of a machine and if it has no presets, then why not make it like the Mini/multi/micro Moogs..... No presets......No Midi......If you like that kind...

Cables

Well Marzz, The cables are a little tight, but it is possible to get them onto the board. When I close the Voyager, there is a slight problem with cables crunching and I think I have a brak as my VCA Sustain control flickers and refuses to register until i move the cable. It's a standard connector s...

no Problem

Hi Industrial Gypsy, Don't worry. Hey1 the forum is for debates and if you haven't got two sides, then it's not a debate. Sound Control are a national company in the Uk and I was told that turnkey were being taken over by them. I couldn't see it be the other way around as Turnkey are a small company...

mmmmm

Well, I sort of understand what you are saying when you say blinkered, but I'm talking about in the general area of Charing cross rd/Oxford street. Yes, tehre are quite a few sound controls throughout the Uk, but when you want something that Turnkey can't do, you immediatly go to Sound control. bein...

Yep around the corner and yet! slighltly better in someways

Sound Control are meant to be taking over the Turnkey group and therefore will be distributors and dealers of Moog products in the UK. Can't say that Sound Control in Oxford street is that bad. They are nice guys in there and I know trying to phone them is hard getting through, but one to one servi...

Ah! the thread goes on

Turnkey seem to have more said about them on any site than the manufacturers themselves. They continue to have staff that either know nothing about what they are selling or who they are. SundaeClubber? How did you manage to get away with shipping costs of £16? That's incredible. I went out to purcah...

Little Phatty

Because of the price difference, obviously there are going to be sacrifices in the LP as opposed to the Voyager. It's got some great features and I know it sounds great. 2 Oscillators is plenty for a fat sound because the Mini had to use the 3rd Osc for LFO. It survived with 2 oscillators as did the...

Customs and Excise

This is the link to their website in the UK. Check out the two different ones though. You want to go to CUSTOMS AND EXCISE and the number is 0845 010 9000 (+44 208 929 0152 outside UK). m Hope this helps you in your quest to get a decent duty on your imports. I've imported a few things recently and ...
