Re: Better Drones
I think it sounds like a cool project! What are the other instruments in the band? Do you play the bass guitar? I want a Minitaur - I have a Little Phatty and used to have a Taurus 3 - sold the T3, I could use the LP but eventually would like the Minitaur. I love playing bass with the bass synth (pl...

Re: Better Drones
I was into drones for a while - usually just a Moog Rogue through some Moogerfoogers - I enjoyed using the LFO from the MF-103 Phaser to manipulate the filter frequency of the MF-101 Low-Pass Filter.

Re: LFO out on phaser -wow!
Nice! I liked using it real slow to control filter frequency on the MF-101 on drones.

Re: RIP Isao Tomita
This makes me really sad - never a huge fan but my dad had the Firebird LP, and I knew the Arabesque #1 from the Star Hustler tv show without realizing it was Tomita. I've since picked up several of them on the Japanese LP-sleeve CD series.

Re: Kraftwerk?
i was once a devoted fan of a band called Kraftwerk [...] then long time later, after much too many years of despairingly wait for some new stuff after the magistral Computer World and the more arguable Electric Café they came with the worst bad joke they could ever manage to insult and exploit us ...

Re: Kraftwerk?
For the essay question... I would love to hear Nine Inch Nails cover the Man Machine. I think trent's style of arranging and synthesis would really shine in the darker sound of the track, and conceptually, it doesn't seem that far off from NIN. How about Motörhead doing Kraftwerk's "Metropolis...

Re: Share your synthesizer music!
Haven't posted here in a while - even though not an explicitly synth-oriented piece, it includes some Moog elements: https://soundcloud.com/hieronymous-seven/rays-of-sound-seven The bass on the intro is filtered by my Big Briar MF-101 (the drums are filtered by the Resonator high-pass filter). The &...

Re: Kraftwerk?
Japanese! OK, they only did one song in Japanese (Dentaku/Pocket Calculator) but I like the Japanese version much better than the English one. I can speak Japanese but not a native speaker, I learned a lot of useful words from that song!
If "both" was a choice that's what I would choose.

Re: Moogerfooger sounds
Thought I'd share some sounds with you guys :) Hope you like 'em. The tracks are recorded "live" with no overdubbing on all the foogers, plus an ekstra 101 and CP. Just going for some abstract soundscapes. https://soundcloud.com/davski/sets/foogers Anyone else got some sounds from an all-...

Re: How do you moog in bands?
So we have complete freedom over how we perform. I also do voice with vocoder or talkbox and act a little like a conductor (?) waving my hand and counting us in to the chorus or whatever. We have drifted a bit too much, in my opinion, into arranging the songs strict, having to count bars. My origin...

Re: midi vs cv
Wanted to say that I enjoyed this thread very much! Most of my synth experience has been with Moogs & CV since about 2002. I've experimented with some purely electronic stuff early on, using Moogerfoogers and a Micro or Rogue. I also got into the Taurus approach, using footpedals to control a sy...

I have one, used it with my Little Phatty with no problem, both with MIDI & CV.

Re: MF-104M Discontinued?
I have a question that is probably stupid but that's never stopped me - why can't more bucket brigade chips be manufactured? They can. But, since their primary application is for delaying audio while corrupting it in a pleasing way, it is not useful for the vast majority of modern consumer and comm...
