Re: Mother 32 SQ1&Reason sync issue

Interesting. I have a couple of SQ-1s and they're great fun but results tend to be a bit variable when getting them to sync with anything other than each other or Volcas. I mostly use them as CV/Gate sequencers and use the sync in/out jacks rather than trying to sync over MIDI. I really haven't time...

Re: New additions to Mother lineup yet?

I wouldn't read too much into the name but it would certainly be good news if some Moogerfooger-style modules were available in Eurorack format. The CP-251 and the effects would certainly round out the set.

Re: x3 Mothers connection help

The gain wouldn't work? Strange. Were you connecting the M32s to line input channels on the mixer or the pre-amped channels? In what way did the gain not work? Signal too low or something else? I use an Allen & Heath ZED 24 for main mix, and a Mackie 1202-VLZ Pro and two Mackie 402-VLZ4 mini-mixers ...

Re: Mother gets loud when plugged to fx

Dave. Yeah that thought occurred to me. The line/headphone out board on the Mother may be driving the output at headphone level for some reason. Might be worth opening the case and checking with a multimeter that the jack connector is working properly.

Re: old school and dark energy

You don't need the VX-351. The CV and gate outputs are right there on the top of the Old School.

Downloaded it and it looks great! Not that the Sub 37 is hard to edit from the panel (it's one of the best in that regard) but any additional options are very welcome. Nice job Moog!

Re: Mother gets loud when plugged to fx

Strange. Obviously some gain is occurring in the signal path. I assume you are connecting your FX from the Mother's rear output jack and not some output point on the Mother's jack field. I've run mine through a couple of Boss pedals (DS-1, CE-5) and also Strymon Big Sky and Eventide H9 and didn't no...

Re: Inserting a guitar effect pedal

Depends on the particular effects pedal but I have connected all kinds of pedals (including some very old and weird ones) via the FX insert on my Voyager and they have all worked - some better than others. It's a lot of fun. Do check that the pedal is working properly first though.

Re: old school and dark energy

I have a Voyager Old School but I don't have a Dark Energy to try it with. By 'drive' I assume you mean controlling the Dark Energy using the OS's keyboard via the CV and Gate outputs. Looking at the Dark Energy spec it should work absolutely fine. The Dark Energy accepts 1v/Oct control voltages and...

Re: x3 Mothers connection help

Good choice. I've never tried a mixer with built-in effects but unless you already have a ton of effects lying around it seems like a sensible move. I don't think it's overkill at all. You'd be amazed how fast you run out of channels. I did consider buying a Eurorack mixer module to keep everything ...

Re: Putting Mother back in her case

Thanks rplktr! I used the new Doepfer PSU3 (plenty of power including 4 Amps on the +5v rail which is great for digital modules). The bus boards are standard Doepfer A-100 ones. The case is by http://www.synthracks.co.uk - they do a very nice range of 6U and 9U 104HP cases in various woods. This one...

Re: Mother-32 with Eventide H9 Video

I love the H9. It transforms any instrument. I normally use it in series with the Strymon Big Sky - the Big Sky providing reverb and the H9 doing a multitude of other things (delay, chorus, phasing and whatever). You can overdo it though, and every synth can end up sounding the same.

Re: x3 Mothers connection help

I understand from your question that you need a common audio path from the 3 mothers through to your effects. Dio33 above has already explained the CV/Gate/Sync side of it. Simplest way is just to use a basic 3-channel mixer with sends and returns for your effects (Behringer and Mackie make excellen...

Re: Putting Mother back in her case

Hi There are two connectors from the M32 board to the little sub-board (fixed to the case) that does the power in and audio out. One is a 2-pin power connector (black/green wires) and the other is a 5-pin audio connector (white, black, violet, blue, green wires). On the underside of the M32 board, t...
