Does anybody know which company made the variable trimmer pots which are found on the modular PCBs
(the blue and browny types) and if they are still available anywhere ?

907 padders
My cloned 907 fixed filter bank has been working fine but has always seemed to deliver half the level of the audio signal out. I treble checked all the circuit and my layouts/components etc and found no discrepancy so the only thing left was to check the "padders" on resistors 2-17 as sugg...

Re: Early touch sensitive module
Thanks for your reply Yes, I see how this can be used to create electronic percussion / attack dependant on time/speed variables. I notice that the touch modules on Carlos system are marked Percussian/Sustain so pertaining to a pianists vocabulary which is now Midi Velocity / Aftertouch. I'm assumin...

Early touch sensitive module
I would like to share some information I gained regarding the clarification of the workings of the Touch Sensitive Keyboard Modules from 1967 onwards. Quote... " The sustain out is a voltage proportional to the key depth. The knob trims the range. Similar to MIDI channel after touch. That volta...

If only the patch cables were more clearer..what's going where ?

Re: 911 extra capacitor
Thanks for reply.
I did include this capacitor in one of my DIY 911 clones. I cannot tell yet if it's made any change to the 911's behaviour.

911 extra capacitor
I just noticed that on the 1968 schematics of the 911 there is a capacitor (C2) at the entry of the gate signal which is not on the Norlin Schematics. The value is .02. At a rough guess I I wonder if this was included as a foil for rogue S trigger from the early keyboards ? Sorry I don't know how to...

Re: Super hard attack from 911's ?
Thanks CZ... I would have never thought that simply adding more patch cords from a multiple fed by a single 911 could actually increase its signal...but it does. In fact by adding just one extra patch cable the response of the 911 becomes quite different. But using a CP3 to increase the overal signa...

Super hard attack from 911's ?
I'm wondering if there's anyway to achieve extra levels of attack from the 911's ? Let's say a 911 goes into a filter or VCA and the attack is set to O ...is there anyway to increase the effect of the attack ? I've tried various methods and even used two 911's to double up the attack amplitude but I...

Re: 907 / 914 output level comparison ...
Thanks. If it's a case of "what goes in comes out" then I will certainly check the wiring and my input and output buffers. If I take a saw signal from a 901b into a CP3 and then take a Pulse wave from the same oscillator and direct it thru the 907 and then back into the same CP3, then the ...

Re: 907 / 914 output level comparison ...
Thanks for your reply to this query. The signal out seems to be weak on all frequencies right across the range although all the frequencies are working correctly . I have a YouSynth 914 and this module does emit are far stronger signal than my 907 clone but again I wondered if this was normal behavi...

907 / 914 output level comparison ...
I'm slightly concerned my 907 DIY clone may be slightly underpowered but wonder is this normal behaviour.? The output level is very roughly half of that compared to a straight saw wave output direct from a 901b. I notice on schematics the buffers on the 914 have been increased and wonder if this was...

Re: Oscillator sync
Thank you for these excellent tips . I'm getting pretty good effects particularly on the lower registers with some sync patches ...on other patches it's hard to detect the sync effect but I do have a KOTk 921 and the weak/strong sync is pretty effective. The sweet spots can take some time finding, I...

Oscillator sync
Does anyone have any tips or special tweaks for syncing oscillators ?
I'm using 921b's and basically slaving via sawtooth and adjusting octave and frequency on the controller...but is that it ? Is there any further adjustments apart from using different waveform and can syncing be taken any further ?
