911 modification

Does anyone have any info regarding circuitry of any envelope generator that features a Hold stage ? I would like to see an example as to how it's done with the possibility of modifying one of me 911 clones. I recently bought a Mini Mod ADSR and tried it in the clone Moog Modular and was surprised a...

Re: early Modular cabinets actually Walnut ?

Thanks for your comments. There's no comparison like eye to eye contact and as mentioned photos can deceive for sure. When I saw two 3C's face to face I was immediatly struck by how light and orange the cabinets were...like my old school oak desk. Not much figuring in the wood. I notice that new Moo...

early Modular cabinets actually Walnut ?

I've always been aware of the notable 'orangey' colour of early Modular cabinets...when comparing them to American or European Walnut they hardly match up. Could it be that teak was used on these early cabinets. ? Comparing the early cabinets Teak seems much more of a match than Walnut. Even Walnut ...

Re: 921b sync clone

Thanks very much for your very helpful info. I have connected pin 10 to -6 v but alas the unit is still dead. I suspect, as you say, the fault might lay around IC12 where the schematics are a little vague. I need to start again I think. Interesting about R102..it's always good to check and compare t...

Re: 921b sync clone

I am using the metal can version ...I will hook up -6v to the pin 10 and see if I can bring the sync to life..
Thanks for your input. I'll report back the results.

921b sync clone

Not having much luck getting my clone 921b sync section to work.

Does anyone know if pin 10 of the ua796 in the sync section, is actually connected maybe to -6 ? The schematic says blank...(apart from connections to R36 and R57)

Also, is there any other schematic available apart from the Norlins ?

Re: 951 keyboard circuit

It is the Prat Read system that's the problem...otherwise I would go ahead...but modifying a vintage keyboard to get the required on/off contacts to function in the right order is something I don't want to tackle just yet. I can imagine doing the work and finding odd keys not working or intermittent...

Re: 951 keyboard circuit

Thanks for help with this, as this is a big project I'm not happy about the lack of info out there and that it looks like no one has faithfully cloned the 951 circuit and keyboard ..I could be mistaken but I've found nothing so far. Added to that the staggered contacts ...I think also that this appl...

951 keyboard circuit

I'm considering making a 951 keyboard clone but before I commit I need to know if the 951 circuit requires that the S Trig bar and Key value resistor bar needs to be trIggered in a 'staggered ' way similar to a multi choir harpsichord. I assumed that the S Trig and Key Value bars were both triggered...

Re: Screw fixing module mounting rail

Many thanks CZ....as usual superb info here and great photos.

I see how you solved this ....I had a different method in mind to save tapping but your method seems more logical and looks great.

Re: Screw fixing module mounting rail

Thanks for your help....I guessed I would have to fabricate these rails and like you will be looking around for suitable metal pieces. I've been trawling looking for some close images of the real thing, I'm wondering if the 'nut' part of the bar is slightly moveable to allow for module size deviatio...

Screw fixing module mounting rail

Not sure what the actual name is of the metal strips that runs across the cabinets of the 3C /55 etc that hold the modules in place . Has anyone any links to images of this strip ? Also what size bolts were used to hold the modules in place.? I plan to rebuild my diy cabinets this summer and use the...

Re: Aftertouch Keyboard

Thanks for this info..I suspected the Axiom being too clumsy and its put me off buying any other aftertouch keyboard. As that was all I bought it for I wasted my money . When I was a lad (and all of this area were fields ) they told me, never buy an instrument until you've placed your fingers on it....

Aftertouch Keyboard

I'm not too happy with my Axiom midi aftertouch keyboard. Maybe I'm doing something wrong perhaps but after much trial and error I'm not getting a smooth response...in fact the aftertouch effect sort of kicks in with big noticeable glitch and a lot of pressure needs to be applied ....too much for no...

Re: Moog Modular with MIDI

I think there are two types of Kentons...one is basic with gate and cv plus an extra cv output that can be assigned say to velocity..the other Kenton has a few more cv outputs...My Kenton has always been faultless. But I use an Oakley midi dac. You get these in kit form which are complex or bought m...
