Re: Sub37 - sequence mod value waveforms

Nice! I wish the glide function would work on sequencer mod values.

I don't know the exact serial number for when the revised boards started appearing, but I think it was somewhere in the 5000 - 6000 range.

Re: Sub 37 Allow local controls post patch change from seque

If I understand correctly, you want the Sub37 to essentially ignore a patch change message if it's already on the requested patch. If so, I can't think of a way to make it do that. I'm not quite clear on the workflow you're describing, however. I think you're saying you have a sequence stored on the...

Re: Sub 37 stuck on "Init Preset" screen

On day 3 of owning the Moog Sub 37, as I was scrolling through the presets with the up and down buttons, when I reached the end of a bank, the screen would read "Init Preset" and remain stuck there. Are you sure it was really "stuck"? The factory presets only occupy bank 1, preset 1 through bank 9,...

Re: Sub 37 to Mother 32 problem-- help!

If I hit a note no sound comes. If I continuously hit a single note I'll get a sound every few seconds....how do I fix it? Sounds like poly chain is active. Go into the MIDI menu on the Sub37 and set POLY NUMBER to OFF. It's on page 3 of the MIDI menu. See page 36 in the manual for details. Hope th...

Re: Sub 37 Chromatic Scales for all 3 octaves

I did the "quick erase" but the issue remains. Oh, well. It was worth a shot. I've recorded a short video that has bad quality but should be sufficient to demonstrate the issue. That's just ... bizarre. I can't think of any normal settings or combinations of settings that would cause that behavior....

Re: Sub 37 Chromatic Scales for all 3 octaves

I'm going to suggest something that sounds unrelated, but it has resolved strange issues such as yours for myself and others. At worst it's harmless and at best it may fix your problem, so it's worth a try. Try doing a Quick Erase of the sequencer. Just hold the BANK button while turning the PATTERN...

Re: Problems with Sysex Librarian and Sub 37 banks

... In the last test, it seems like maybe the incoming messages always wrote to Bank 1 Preset 1, since it was left containing '1974th' (which came from Bank 1 Slot 16). ... Yep. Presets saved with the CURRENT PRESET sysex dump will always be loaded into whatever preset slot is current when they are...

Re: Manually sync Sub37 arp?

Global menu - Seq options - Phase reset: on Dagnabbit! How did I miss that? I wish the manual had an index. I strenuously agree about being able to set the BPM directly (or at least displaying the current setting). I think I read that such a feature was planned for a future firmware update. ...

Manually sync Sub37 arp?

Has anyone come up with a way to manually sync the arpeggiator (and sequencer) so that it starts playing a note immediatly when I press a key, like the KB RESET functionality on the LFOs? I'm trying to do some multitracking with a digital multitrack recorder (not a DAW) that has no MIDI clock or syn...

Re: Massive amounts of MIDI messages being sent

In addition to the clock messages, there are control messages being sent. These are normally sent only while you are moving a knob, but as Space Lee said, this looks like a case where a knob on the Sub37 is sitting exactly between two values and it can't decide which it should be. In this case, it's...

Re: Moog Noob & Sub 37 MIDI Question

If I understand correctly, you want the keys from the Sub37 to play on the Minitaur, but don't want the knobs on the Sub37 to affect the Minitaur. You've turned off local control in the Sub37's GLOBAL menu. That's not what you need (as you've discovered :-) ). Local control determines whether keys, ...

Re: Sub37 PITCH AMT pot range

Remember that by default, MOD1 is routed through the modulation wheel, so you should be able to get very subtle pitch variations by setting the PITCH AMT to a slightly-off-center amount and adjusting the mod wheel slightly up from minimum. Of course, that assumes you don't need the mod wheel for oth...

Re: SUB 37 defective key?

Sounds like you might need to do a "Note Calibration" procedure on that key. See the NOTE CAL section of the manual (page 48.)
