Re: Power-One supply for modular

I was looking at these recently as well. The HCC512-A series (A dual supply) looks like it could be modded to work well for the Moog modular, supplying the -6v and +12 V rails. Each output is isolated, so it could be hooked up to be positive or negative, and there is a trimmer for each side to adjus...

Interesting IOS App for Theremini

There's a great new IOS app called midiLFOs that adds a whole new dimension to programming the Theremini. This app produces four independent LFOs that can be assigned to any CC on any Midi channel. The outputs can scaled to fit any range you might find useful (want the LFO to only go from CC value 6...

Re: User definable scales for Theremini

This was an early request of mine as well. This would be a really useful feature, especially if the user scale could be updated (redefined) on the fly via Midi. This would give you complete control over note availability, in conjunction with the quantization. I'm currently using a Midi pedal (PMC 10...

Re: Minimoog D Pulse and Square waveform issues

There's a set of spacers for the voice card that keep it from shorting to the chassis at the top when installed. If the card shorted to the chassis when powered on, it can blow a transistor (don't remember which one, sorry) which kills the square wave output for oscillator 1. Should be a fairly easy...

Re: Can I get thicker sound on Theremini?

Creating sounds using the waveforms that can be scanned and using the LFO to slowly animate them will also make for fatter sounds. Animoog 1, and Etherwave were scannable in the first versions of the firmware, and the latest version added several more. A touch of delay will help as well. I like crea...

Re: Note event handling for theremini?

Hi Gordon: Very sorry to hear that the Yamaha fader app is not available in the UK...it really does do good things for the Theremini. Another app that will let you design your own interface and connect Midi CCs to it is Called Midi Designer. The lite version is free, but you have to put up with a sl...

Re: ELP's "Toccata" against a click...

Thanks for the cool link, Tom! I've got a question.... How are you patching the delayed modulation for the modular trumpet line? I had always assumed that maybe Emerson had some sort of pressure mod done to his keyboard, and was adding that pitch shift by pressing harder on the keys (not sure how I ...

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

I've been using the MidiSequencer app... http://appshopper.com/music/midisequencer I've got a few different sequencers (including the Little Midi Machine) but this one is in a different league, and keeps getting better with every update. Since it can send multiple CCs at each step, it plays very wel...

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

The CV out note adjustment on the new firmware works very well indeed. I have an Oberheim SEM module hooked up to the Theremini, and was able to adjust the scale and offset controls to get it to track the entire range of the Theremini (!) which is pretty impressive. With a bit of adjustment and pati...
