Re: Troubleshooting Old 905 Reverb Unit

Thanks for the great pictures, Tom! So, what's your 100k trimmer hooked to? The 100k on the production unit is hooked between the output and ground...adjusting it low enough would eventually lower the output, but wouldn't really affect the noise. Yours might be the Q2/Q3 feedback? Still hoping for a...

Re: Specs of an original 905 reverb spring

Back when Moog started making these, there weren't a lot of choices for springs. I'm assuming that the springs available back then were all about the same as the units being used in most guitar amps. The typical Fender amp springs back then were usually an 8 ohm input impedance, and a 2.5k ohm outpu...

Re: Troubleshooting Old 905 Reverb Unit

Thanks a million! These newer pictures are a big help, and I really appreciate you taking the time to help us here at the forum! A couple more questions, if I may.... 1) At the bottom left quadrant, there's a 10uf blue cap, a 220 ohm resistor, then a resistor that I think is a 33k, but is hidden fro...

Re: Replicating Sonic Six modulation section on two model 15

I really love the Sonic 6 XY generator. It creates an incredible variety of modulations, some almost sequencer like. I''m surprised that this configuration wasn't utilized in more synths. Your plan seems like a good place to start. There are some things that will be a bit clunkier...the balance knob...

Re: 905 general questions

Boy Howdy! After about an hour or so of poking and prodding, I finally got a picture from my IPad to this forum. :? A First!!! This is the "stuff sheet" I mentioned before. It includes all of the component locations that i could actually see in the photos, and I've marked the power and ground rails ...

Re: 905 general questions

Hi All! I've been doing the same thing as Bernhard, and have noticed the same differences. The Trace that The 2.2k and 75uf capacitor are connected to are the same trace that the emitters of Q1 and Q4 are connected to. I think that this is the ground trace as there also seems to be a couple of shiel...

Re: 905 general questions

Hi Bernhard! It looks like we're both following the same discrepancies noted when you start to really look closely at the published/corrected schematics online vs what appears to be happening in an actual unit. From what I've noticed so far, I completely agree with you, and I've asked a series of qu...

Re: Troubleshooting Old 905 Reverb Unit

Hi Rezin: Thanks for the great pics of the reverb module! This certainly helped clear up some of the confusion surrounding this module and the errors in the published schematics, but also raised a few other questions for me. Is there any chance that you could post a closer, more detailed picture of ...

Re: 905 general questions

Great Questions!
I've been planning to add a spring reverb to my 55, and also wanted to know about the Q3 collector resistor and any other errors in the published schematics.

Hopefully Tom and others in possesion of functioning units can help clear things up?
I've already got the springs.... :D

Re: Theremini -- Spreadsheet for scales

I found this in the excellent manual for the TB Midi stuff IPad app. I printed it out to post in my little studio, and also keep it in my IPad notes. I'm hoping that Moog will add some of the more exotic ones for a Theremini update. Having a user-programmable and Midi-loadable scale is one of my man...

Re: L5 Amp ?

Great amps! Like all 30+ year old equipment, may need some servicing, particularly caps. These make great synth amps as well, with the compressor and multifilter being good for processing, as well as the overdrive capabilities. The late Ronnie Montrose was an early endorser, and these were the secre...

Re: Please help! - Theremini MIDI problem

Hi Gordon: Glad you got it sorted out! That's a very interesting problem...I'm surprised that the Eowave company hasn't been forthcoming about fixing such an obvious problem. This is one of those things that the monitor on Midi Tool Box can be really helpful with. Here's an english manual.. http://m...
