Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

Y'know, it seems that people are reporting this display problem after they have upgraded their firmware. SO, I'm sure it would be useful to know if this is indeed a byproduct of something in the new firmware. Could any of you that are having this problem load the old firmware back in (1.0.4, still a...

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

Does this happen even when the unit is sitting idle, or Does it only happen when using the pitch antenna, volume antenna, or both? Does it have to warm up to do this? Does it only happen when hooked up to the editor, or in stand alone (unhooked) as well? I didn't use C6 to load, but instead a progra...

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

WOW....that's really weird. !!! My unit does not do this....I just went back and tried it for 10 minutes or so, just to make sure I hadn't maybe spaced out and missed it, and it never flips upside down like I see in Satri's video. My suggestion would be to erase the firmware and reload it again, jus...

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

Looks like the new firmware update is active on the Moog downloads page, and just in time for Christmas! http://www.moogmusic.com/products/etherwave-theremins/theremini#downloads-tab Many,Many,MANY thanks to our friends at Moog Music for their hard work in making this happen! :D This is a pretty sub...

Re: Hi - UK based newbie Theremini-ist - MIDI query.

Hi Cliff: The Theremini can't just connect directly to another Midi device. Since it is implemented as a "slave" Midi, it must connect to some type of computer host, either IOS, Windows, or OSX for it to function correctly. There is no cable that can just be hooked up to the Mini USB on th...

Re: Disappointed in the Theremini

Hi Peter: If you're only interested in controlling softsynths, it looks like the Sonuus i2M converter might be a better choice, since it already has a USB output to genereate Midi directly to your computer without having to re-convert it through a Midi interface. These look like interesting boxes, a...

Re: Theremini Preset Editor

Hey Rich:
I was wondering if you got the Behringer Midi pedals discussed earlier, and if so, how are they working for you? I might have a chance to pick a unit up cheap, and was wondering if it is worth it.
I'm also curious about that Uno chip, if you picked one up.....

Re: New Theremini Firmware Update!

I called and asked! I've been talking about the Theremini with the people at Moog since I got mine some months ago, asking various questions (and lots of them) about it's operation, and making suggestions about what I'd like to see next on the instrument, based on my experiences and workflow with it...

Re: Disappointed in the Theremini

Hi Peter: The Theremini has both Midi In and Out, and has since it was released. That's part of what the USB is about. I use it with an IPad, although it will also appear us a USB Midi device on a Windows or OSX machine as well. What exactly are you expecting it to do that it doesn't? Maybe I can he...

New Theremini Firmware Update!

As an early Christmas present, I've learned that Moog will soon be releasing the first major firmware upgrade for the Theremini, adding a number of very cool features to the instrument. Among many changes, some noteables are more scannable wavetables, improved (and adjustable) response times for the...

Re: Composing with the Theremini

Congrats on the new modular...that looks like a great musical tool in a really portable enclosure. Very interesting sounds as well. Thanks for sharing! Have you tried patching the pitch CV directly to the oscillators? Currently with the pitch scaling turned on, the low note and high note settings sc...

Re: Composing with the Theremini

Sounds really nice, Rick! I like that low frequency filtered crackling sound as well. If you have any sort of midi controllers like the free Yamaha faders IPad app, you can send CC 7 to allow you to fade the Theremini in and out. CC103 just affects the Animoog oscillator, leaving any trailing delays...

Check Amazon or EBay. In stock there. I got mine right away from EBay when they first came out.

Re: Why does this Modular sound so incredible ?

Sounds great!

Also sounds like the keyboard could use a new set of key bushings...seemed sort of clacky, although it's often hard to tell with a camera mic and their built- in compression.

Liked the BSS sequence... :D

Re: Help buying Theremin - Which one?

If you plug the Theremini into the USB port of your computer, it should show up in the source and destination slots for the MOTU. Curious to see how this actually works.
