Arp/sequencer with local off: Sub 37

Does anyone know if it is possible with the Sub 37 to get an arp or sequence going, and then switch to local off while it is running? I want to use the Sub 37 keyboard to trigger an external sound module via MIDI, and play along with the arp/sequence. It seems that if an arp/sequence is playing and ...

Re: Problem with Sub 37 (buzz sound)

gencomprodukts and everyone: Thanks to everyones input I can now definitely reproduce the problem. gencomprodukts, I did the same test but with higher notes. The drone sound is definitely there. UNFILTERED: http://electricjazzgroove.com/moog-test/filter-open.wav It's harder with my 8" studio mo...

Re: Problem with Sub 37 (buzz sound)

Could you test your unit in Panel Mode? Open one VCO, range 4 or 8, volume at 5 or below, triangle wave, filter wide open, 24 db, no multidrive, feedback, Modulations and let us know? And an audio file would be great to compare. Thanks JonLukas! Ok I did the test as you described. I am not hearing ...

Re: Problem with Sub 37 (buzz sound)

there's a drone note/hum or buzz sound centered around the note E2 (first E below middle C) present all the time. I did have one session where I was sure this very thing was happening. I messed with it for a bit and kept having this problem. It was definitely a low drone note that did not change pi...

Re: Sub 37 mod wheel / aftertouch question

Is there any chance that in the future, simple relationships can be set up between the mod wheel and/or aftertouch, to directly control a parameter, without having to use Mod1 or Mod2 ? Perhaps with the ability to set the degree to which the parameter is affected? For example: Wheel -> Filter Cutoff...

Re: Sub 37 with Big Sky reverb: audio example

Any chance you could share the key settings? I don't remember all the particulars, but I had a Mod-wheel controlled LFO altering the filter (and wave shape of one or both oscillators, I think), and the second LFO doing a slow subtle modulation of the filter (and maybe the wave shapes of one of the ...

Sub 37 with Big Sky reverb: audio example

For those wondering about the smoother, mellower sounds of the Sub 37, here is a little solo improv I did, with the Strymon Big Sky reverb playing a big role. It's a flute-like (or oboe-like) patch I created, and the Big Sky is set to the Bloom mode. https://soundcloud.com/poly-groove/sets/sub-37-so...

Re: Sub 37 Firmware 1.0.2 Bugs

I have this issue on 1.0.2 on a couple of the patches I made. When I change patches, the note hangs, no controls work, and it has to be restarted. It seems to happen on patches where the amp envelope latch is on. If I turn off the latch before changing the patch, the problem doesn't happen.

I should have also mentioned that I, too, lowered the transfer rate when doing my successful update (75%).

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

I have successfully updated using SysEx Librarian and DemonDan's settings.

Many thanks to Dan and Amos and everyone else who contributed to this thread. It made me much more confident to go ahead with the update.

Re: Sub 37 dust cover (Little Phatty dust cover) too tight

I have that cover for my Sub 37. It is a bit tight. I found that by first hooking onto the back corners, and then stretching it forward, worked better than going side-to-side. And perhaps after doing it a few times it has loosened. It seems snug but not too tight now. My problem, though, is that I h...

A simple request:

When the Arpeggiator/Sequence is OFF, turn off the blinking RATE light.

Re: Anyone else brick their Sub37 with firmware 1.0.2?

I have not updated yet, even though I need the updated MIDI filtering feature--I was waiting to see if others has issues, and as I feared, someone does. Hopefully there is a resolution that does not involve sending the unit back to the factory. The update process does seem messy...it involves using ...

Re: Sub 37 - Questions

The light show's rate is dictated by the Arpeggiator's RATE knob. Yeah I saw that...I was just curious about having the rate change over time...so that, for instance, during a set break the lights could start off slow, and speed up as the next set approached. But it looks like the LFO can't go that...

Firmware 1.0.1 was posted today.

I wonder if they were holding back some shipments until they could get that firmware loaded...?
