Re: [Sub 37] Pitch wheel mis-calibrated?

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

They are replacing my board with the latest board based on my request. .... My warranty has expired, my filter cutoff is fixed, and I don't expect any other problems with my Sub 37. Thanks for starting this tread Toom! for me this is the best news. A new revised PCB and metal pot installed into a S...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

The solution is simple and has already been stated. If your filter pot is faulty then contact Moog and they'll take care of it. If your filter pot is not faulty then don't contact Moog because there's no need to. Why is this so difficult for folks to understand? Exactly! I contacted MOOG and the pr...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

Whilst posting messages on board like this is quite common, the level of interaction, and accuracy of intent is rather low compared to a face to face, or even a phone conversation. Taking all that into consideration, I believe there is probably very little we actually disagree on, and I'll prefer t...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

@blackout, I think you're making it out to be more sinister than it is. They have only seen a small percentage failures. They identified a LATENT defect in the component. With latent defects after a certain amount of time, if the unit hasn't failed, it won't fail. They are repairing all the failed ...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

I don't agree to changing the terms of the agreement after the equipment was sold. I would like to see what Moog can do for folks with a problem within the agreement. So far the claim is that they have fixed those units that were brought to their attention. i think here is the point MRNUTTY. if Moo...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

i know someone who just ordered a Sub37, they have read this thread and told me they obviously dont want the FFPP version. They are going to refuse to accept the delivery and send the sealed Moog box back when it arrives if the serial number on the box is below 5800 and ask for another one to be sen...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

Just for reference, here's a link to the page offering the upgrades for Prophet 08 and Evolver. http://store.davesmithinstruments.com/products.php?cat=13 The relevant kit for a DYI'er is the one priced at $175. This kit included two 8x10 inch PCB's. The final cost of a Moog upgrade will depend on t...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

i dont think anyone is suggesting ChiLam that Moog was cost-cutting with the pots. its more of an unfortunate design or component fault.

i would be more than happy to get the revised PCB so my local technician could install it.

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

You're forgetting one thing: what if the pot doesn't fail, and actually last many years ? Moog isn't expected to fix something that isn't defective, are they ? i think i mentioned "faulty filter pots" thealien666. not perfectly working ones. so if the pot fails in 3 years due to less usage (but sti...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

heya Obtuse. i think the heat would be taken out of this whole thread actually if Moog agrees that faulty filter pots will be fixed free of charge to a new metal pot regardless of whether our Sub37's are in warranty or not. At the end of the day that's all we can really ask for. And as mentioned by ...

Re: Sub 37 Filter Cutoff: First Batch vs. Revised Batch

Thank you Moog for responding. Less than 0.9% of all Sub 37s have experienced a problem with the filter cutoff control. i dispute this figure, but regardless this is "so far"..over 600 synths!! have been returned with this problem...in less than 12 months of the synth being on the market. How many ...
