Re: FS/FT: Mint MF104Z

You can use a midi controller to adjust the settings. There are also hidden settings that can be adjusted via midi. If you use multiple time based devices and use midi clock, you can sync them together without adjusting the time knob. If you're the kind of person that just wants to easily move knobs...

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide

One thing I failed to mention is that I installed a new 50KA peat emph slide pot from Syntaur. I wonder is the pot is bad or possibly the wrong value. That could certainly be it. Doing multiple things at once makes this stuff more difficult to track down. Doublecheck the pots solder joints and veri...

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide

It should take around 10 to 15 minutes if you're already disassembled. You can find the procedure on page 18 of the manual: m A lot of DMMs have a frequency reader that you can use. A frequency generator will also do the trick. Otherwise you can use a tuner. I think I just used my Cleartune tuner ap...

That didn't happen to me. Did you recalibrate?

FS/FT: Mint MF104Z

I have a MF-104Z that has only been removed from the box a couple times. Otherwise it's been stored in a closet exactly how it was shipped. Includes box, PSU, manual and warranty card. Sounds amazing and I do love the oscillation on this unit more than the other Moog delays I've used. I'd like to tr...

MF-101 + MF-103 to get Fender Blackface Vibrato

I spent some time today replicating the vibrato (tremolo) on my '67 Fender Vibrolux Reverb. It's extremely close. In fact, neither my band members nor I can tell if I'm using the Moog or the amp's vibrato unless we check to see which is in use. I'm using a Mf-101 Lowpass Filter and a MF-103 12-Stage...

Keep and eye out here

Looking forward to this!

Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide

That is correct. That's what's generating your white noise. Q1 is reverse biased with the collector left open. This uses the transistor in the same way a Zener diode is used in reverse breakdown.

Strange. I thought my super delay was quieter than my old MF-104M.

Updated section on low value capacitors. It turns out these are axial caps that look very similar to metal film resistors!

Re: MG1 Filter Problem

You can rule out the slide pots by de soldering them and using a different pot in their place. You could try jumping the emphasis pot with a wire/clip to see if bypassing it entirely gives you the effect you would normally have when fully up. I would verify voltages on all the ICs and transistors in...

Re: MIDI preset box for MF-104SD

You'd need to send a midi PC into your iOS devise. Then you can use a foot controller live. MidiDesigner recognizes the PC # along with the preset #. Pretty cool when you combine it with a foot controller like the GigRig to switch your pedals. My problem is that I have my iPad tied up in another ins...

Re: MIDI preset box for MF-104SD

Nice! That's always been a project I've been putting on the backburner. It's nice to have some direction for it. I've been using an iPad, but would definitely prefer a standalone box. Great work! Shoot me a message with what you'd like for one of these. Would be interested in buying one. Especially ...
