Re: Moog/Realistic MG-1 Mod Guide

Awesome - thanks for taking the time to post all these mods! I guess it's about time for me to face the inevitable, and take on the dreaded foam gunk removal project so I can move on to the fun stuff!! Randy PS - Not intending to detour from this thread, but any links to a discussion on how to best ...

I am talking about stage ii with CV out, but I suppose the question can be interpreted differently 8)

Which orange?
I have a LP Solar CV I picked up from Sweetwater shortly before the LP was discontinued.

Definitely not green, however...

Re: Moog MG-1, Rogue, and Prodigy - Filter and cap mods

I'm getting pretty close to finishing up on testing all of the mods. Is there anything I'm missing on my list that anybody would suggest? ... Just the instruction manual(s) that show how to do all these mods! All kidding aside, thanks for taking the time to do all this ~ Looking forward to taking y...

Re: My Slim Phatty is not in tune.. Help!

Just to be sure: Note calibration 12 - 116 Pitch Wheel Amount calibration. and OSC2 Frequency Calibration. right? Yep, that should do it! Be sure the SP is warmed up before starting, and center all the tuning adjustments prior to starting the calibrations. For SP/LP's that are basically kept in a c...

Re: My Slim Phatty is not in tune.. Help!

Perform ALL the calibration routines as listed in the SP owners manual ~
Generally makes a HUGE difference!!

One of the joys of true analog synths...

Re: Midi Time Lag?

I have both of those Foogers ~

The hardware receiver side of the MIDI connections (the MoogerFoogers in this case) is going to respond, for all practical purposes, instantaneously.
Any MIDI lag usually originates with any software or processors that might be included on the controller side.

Re: LP Midi CC Chart

It's in the OS 3.1 addendum, which I don't think was ever posted to the "downloads" section for some reason.
I believe all the firmware updates since OS 3.1 just listed the changes specific to that particular firmware version.

The attached ZIP contains the addendum in PDF format.

One of these would probably work:

Or if you need some routing control of the MIDI signal:

Thanks for posting that info, and really looking forward to the comprehensive mod guide!

Hoping to "degunk" and mod my MG-1 sometime this year ~
although I can't say I'm looking forward to the "degunk" part of this!!

Re: Slim Phatty - balanced out?

Unbalanced - uses standard 1/4" mono audio cable. You might want to go ahead and grab the available downloads for the Slim and get a head-start on the manual. Also, you'll want to make sure the one you're buying is updated to the latest OS once you get it, if it's not there already. All the ins...

Can the SP transmit midi in-out over USB?

Sure -
Pretty much anything that can be done via the MIDI DIN jacks, can be done via USB, provided you have the software to handle the MIDI routing.

Re: Slim Phatty Midi Thru question

Think of MIDI THRU as an OUTPUT, not an INPUT ~ The THRU jack is designed to pass "thru" the same MIDI information that is received at IN jack: Device A "MIDI OUT"=> Device B "MIDI IN" Device B "MIDI THRU" => Device C "MIDI IN" Unless there is intern...

Re: Connecting Minitaur via USB type B (male) to type B (mal

What DonutDude said ~ USB-equipped peripherals require a USB "host" for connectivity - i.e. a computer or some other device designed as a USB host. If you want to control the Minitaur directly from another keyboard, sequencer, etc. without using a computer or other USB host device in the m...
