Re: Moog Modular

I realize that this may be a bulky and expensive alternative, unless of course, you already own all the moogerfoogers and at least 1 cp251 . . . but theoretically, couldn't you rack-mount the 'foogers with several patch bays, and route all the audio and CV in/outs through the patch bays, so that you...

Re: a big thanks to everyone, best synth forum I know

Thanks again everyone. I actually decided against the virus (for now anyway). Instead, I ran the nord through an mf101 and mf102, and wow, definitely added a whole new dimension to the sound. So, now I've gone and ordered the Cluster Flux, should arrive tomorrow Perhaps I'll exercise some patience w...

Re: a big thanks to everyone, best synth forum I know

I'm glad to see that we all agree. Now, I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask our little family a non-moog related question (keep in mind that I love all my moog gear: phatty, theremin, mf101, mf102, mf107, cp251, but I sometimes find a need for a poly VA synth... that's right, I'm not a purist...

a big thanks to everyone, best synth forum I know

Just wanted to drop a line to everyone here and say thanks for the sense of community that you all bring to this forum. I have recently been seeking help on some VA topics, so I've been to a few other forums and posted my questions. Plenty of people have viewed them, but no one has responded at all ...

Re: nord lead 2x through mf101?

Yes, I should definitely look into the Prophet . . . just not sure how far I'd have to drive to test one out. I'm sure I could use the array of modulation it offers to create some pretty psychedelic sounds, even if they vary from my current pallet. Not sure if I'm reading in the wrong places, but I ...

Re: nord lead 2x through mf101?

stiiiiiiive, I actually have considered the dsi Prophet 08 for an affordable poly-synth, but I've never had the opportunity to play with one. Also, one thing I love about the Nord is having 4 banks/parts, the Prophet only has 2. I could probably get used to that, but I have a lot of layered sounds t...

Re: nord lead 2x through mf101?

thanks for all the input, everyone. Excellent point about the 101 not having an envelope generator. Probably would serve me better to run it through the phatty . . . or, I've been thinking recently that perhaps the Minitaur would be a cool analog module to run the nord through. To the purists, I wou...

nord lead 2x through mf101?

Greetings, fellow knob-tweakers. Ever since I got my Phatty last year, the filter on my Nord sounds a bit weak. I've been considering adding the mf101 to my rig (as I am slowly collecting all the 'foogers) and running my Lead2x through it to add some dimension to the sound. However, I am still a bit...

Re: Pics of Minitaur in Action

help an amateur out here . . . will running my phatty through the minitaur result in any cool sounds that I couldn't get with just the phatty alone? My guess would be, yes of course, especially considering what I read on the forum about what separates the taurus filter from the others. But, I'm wond...

Re: anyone else using a doepfer R2M with their SP/LP?

yeah, I've almost gotten used to tuning it between songs (I have the headphone out running to a tuner). Luckily my band does extended ambient soundscapes between songs, so I have time to tune it then . . . the only down side is that I usually can't use the Phatty for the trippy transitions and have ...

Re: anyone else using a doepfer R2M with their SP/LP?

thanks, cliffman . . . I had already turned auto-tune off though, which definitely improved the problem, but I'm still finding that if I use the R2M for a pitch slide and then bring it back, to what should be the same note, it gets off by half a step or so. It may actually be a problem with the R2M,...

anyone else using a doepfer R2M with their SP/LP?

Does anyone else on here use a Doepfer R2M ribbon controller with their SP/LP? If so, do you know any tricks to keeping the Moog tuned while going back and forth between the keys and the ribbon (using it to control pitch CV)? For example, when I use the ribbon controller to do pitch slides then go b...

I have a black signature series theremin with very few hours on it, mint condition. I'll let it go to someone for $350.
