Re: Post your latest purchase!!

A Ring Mod to go with my Freq Box. Guess a Midi-MuRF and Minitaur are next, as well as a CP-251. This could go on and on I suppose.

Re: New owner - Amazed! Tips?

A delay pedal is a very good idea. Also, as to amps, a Roland KC series keyboard amp is one good choice, but a good bass amp and speaker cab is also a good choice. Just don't use a guitar amp. Have fun, and go get a delay pedal right now!!

It should not be distorted or gritty, unless your signal is distorted or gritty. I'd take it back.

Very cool board-o-Foogers. I'm also a bassist, but concentrate more on synths lately. Loves pedal-fx, too. Nice stuff.

Completely different machines. Methinks you may want to look into them both a little deeper.

Control Voltages can be used for just about anything. But yes, you do need to know what it is you're trying to accomplish first, rather than just patching cords from one place to another.

Saw Return To Forever live last year, playing with Zappa Plays Zappa. While Dweezil was on stage, Chick Corea came out and jammed with him for a bit. He did an extended solo on a Phatty. It was awesome.

TrippyMod is one of my fav's. not many of my presets have been left "as-is" from the factory, but that one is, and will always be.

Re: best Amp (not PA) for slim phatty

The Roland KC series keyboard amps will be one good choice. I own a KC-350, and use it for rehearsals and jams, but my gig rig is a Mesa M3 Carbine bass head, through an Aguilar DB 210 or Genz benz Uber 212 spkr cab, all bass gear. I really like synth through a bass rig. It will all come down to per...

Re: Roland KC vs Traynor

Can't really answer much, but I can tell you the difference in low end cannot be judged by spkr size alone. The smaller box is a bigger indicator, but there are many variables. A side by side test would be ideal, of course. I use a KC350 at our little studio, but a bass rig for gigging. If you do ge...

Track titled Part 4 is my favorite. The first 4 tracks, which all begin with 2 23, have zero phatty, (...

I use the Roland EV-5 with my Phatty and Foogers. It's all good.
