Re: Electronic components

Good morning precious forum, i need to change some component(Capacitors and resistors) in my modular Cotk My Synth is very nice but i search the my sound.I am interested in companies that sell components similar to that used by the Moog in the 60's and early 70's for the construction of modular, su...

Re: Inverted signal

Many thanks C. And I appreciate the scope images you placed ..thanks for your time. I understand what you described regarding mixing the signals and the various inversions etc. So let's say I have two triangle waves ...I invert one ..then mix together to produce a different timbre ? I think that's ...

Re: Inverted signal

Well, there are different scenarios: Looking at a LFO signal it is obvious. A rising ramp modulates in a different way compared to a falling ramp, and a non symmetrical square wave modulation differs too if inverted, as the ON OFF times are exchanged. In audio frequency range there is no audible dif...

"Hey Mami" from "Sylvan Esso" is my favorite. A minimalistic performance with a real cool result. And Amelia is soooo cute :D

Re: Two inputs on the VCAs are nice

AM, Es tut mir lied! I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be rude. No problem What I normally do is take the positive out from the CP > VCF > VCA. Then I will take the negative output > FFB > VCA. So going into the VCA they are already out of phase. So you are saying that this reverses an already out of ph...

Re: Two inputs on the VCAs are nice

Hey, you can talk to me directly If you feed the same signal to the differential inputs of the 902, the result is zero, because one side is inverted. This is the same as if you would ADD a signal to your original which is 180 degrees out of phase (meaning just the AC components of the signal, any DC...

Re: Question on modular forum content

It has already happened I am not a lucky owner of an original Moog Modular, but I am in the cloning business of them, so I dived deeply into the guts of the Moog Systems and circuits, and I would love to discuss about tricks and specials of the Moog modules and the schematics behind them with others...

Re: Two inputs on the VCAs are nice

While cloning the 902 I've seen that the input buffer works as a difference amplifier with one input connected to each side so the two inputs are processed with a 180 degree phase difference.

Re: Mini Moog A440 ref circuit

I don't rely on analog circuitry in this case. I built a crystal based circuit with divider chain for my Formant modular, see http://www.analog-monster.de/440hz_en.html

Re: Moog Prodigy - HELP!!

Sounds for me as if there would be a temperature problem with the transistor array U3 (3046). This IC controls the octave "spreading / inclination" of oscillator 2. Try to replace it and / or resolder the pins (might be on socket).

Re: Moog prodigy no audio

-16V at C39 isn't cool, I'd say. My recommendation: 1.) Check the fuses 2.) Replace U21 (7912 voltage regulator) If there is still no output, you have to crawl backwards thru the circuit until you finally reach the oscillators 3.) Check in's and out of OTA U17 (VCA) with a scope. If there is an inpu...

Re: Moog Modular Keyboard inquiry

Well, AFAIK there have been only two basic technologies / keyboard interfaces for Moog Modulars. First the standard monophonic variant and the second the duophonic version. The monophonic version provided one control voltage and one STrigger event, the duophonic version two of them. That's all. If y...

I'm currently running a Moog System 55 Clone Project and therefore built some CP3As for it. I would sell them, without the frontpanels though. http://www.analog-monster.de/mmtcp3aFront.jpg http://www.analog-monster.de/mmtcp3aboard.JPG More infos at http://www.analog-monster.de/mmtcp3a_en.html Just s...
