Re: An idea...

If he was still with us, I would have gladly donated and shipped an empty pinball cabinet and piles of parts to Kevin for the project. Fact is I never saw this thread until now but strangely, I've seen the picture of the Moog pinball machine on Google Images over the years and never thought to look ...

Re: Little Phatty CV inputs

As far as I'm aware (and can remember), it's pure voltage applied to the analog circuits. Granted, my Phatty was a Tribute, with the 2.0 upgrade (subsequently running the latest code) but it should be the same. If you are having a problem getting a good test together with your other gear, PM me and ...

Re: Faulty TI chips in Voyager Old School?

I owned an older Old School, serial number in the mid-300s. Never had an issue; I loved that thing... ... but traded 'up' to a Voyager Select and was struck by the Ti chip issue. Moog replaced the Analog and I swapped it out, worked fine, cost me nothing except for shipping to them. You should do tw...

Re: Little Phatty CV inputs

Could be the attenuator on the Moog expression pedal is not dialed in right and you are getting very little sweep effect coupled with a dirty main pot. I'm not sure if you said which EP you had and if it was new or if you purchased it 2nd hand but you should open it from below, see if everything is ...

Re: Q182 Joystick Controller for Model 15 and Sonic Six

I've got two Q181w in a Q182 style 2 space module (for traditional pitch and mod duties) It would be identical to the stick except that the stick does not have a switch gate at the extremities. Each 1/2 of space (essentially, each axis of the stick) includes the output (at the top), range of which c...

Re: 907 / 914 output level comparison ...

I haven't gotten back to mine but what Noddy said is about what I remember. Granted, mine is a brandy new 907a which is based on inductors from Cinemag but henry is henry.

Again, if somebody can recommend a windows or preferably mac based level monitoring tool or daw plug-in, that would be grand.

Re: 907 / 914 output level comparison ...

I'm slightly concerned my 907 DIY clone may be slightly underpowered but wonder is this normal behaviour.? The output level is very roughly half of that compared to a straight saw wave output direct from a 901b. I notice on schematics the buffers on the 914 have been increased and wonder if this wa...

Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...

Probably should mention to remember to flip the power supply switch to 115V (from "230V", assuming you are in the states, that is). It the pic, it's set for 230V which is standard throughout Europe and England.

Re: Post your Old School serial number!

Modified how? What did you have in mind. When I had mine, I had the 1V/oct. mod done, flashing/lit clear pitch/mod wheels installed, legato/staccato switch selector (otherwise, you have to select at power up), and some cosmetic changes. All done by Moog in Asheville. I definitely recommend the 1V/oc...

Re: Just bought a Model D on eBay...

Your Mini is the brother or sister of mine (mine is two digits in serial # order away) which puts yours around Spring 1976, a fine year : ) Serial #'s 5000 onward are said to have the Octave Buffer boards installed at the factory and I can see the two screws in the pictures on eBay. Otherwise, yours...

Re: Voyager XL Tolex "chassis has been updated"?

Yeah, that was their dilemma I think, machining the metals and getting the lighting panels made for jack field on the left. It would have added a bunch to the cost and made it additionally complex... who knows if the existing lighting source would have been sufficient. When I had my select, I freake...

Re: Voyager XL Tolex "chassis has been updated"?

It's the Moog Modular style guide in action. The markings appear to be applied to a lexan overlay (similar to the standard Voyager, unlike the way that the older Moog products were produced such as the Little Phatty Tribute which had silkscreened paint on the black metal and definitely not photo-foi...

Re: Pinout for DB25 I/O connectors?

It's not passive, there is a driver circuit to boost the Pitch CV and a few other components, I never bothered to trace it. Click on the Flickr! link in my signature for a decent pic of the internals of the VX-351 (and read the description beneath the photo). If you want a higher res photo or a pic ...

Re: For investors primarily?

I haven't seen a lot of "look what I bought" posts from people with Model 35/55s so I'm guessing that Studios or serious musicians bought them up, if indeed they are all sold. But if you haven't done so already, you should check Moog dealer network via Sales in Asheville; you never know, s...

Re: 904C Filter Coupler

I'll post something on YouTube if you want but it won't be high quality (I only have an iPhone so while you'll be able to hear the differences, it won't be HiFi so to speak) and WILL be the MOS-LAB derivative. I have an actual Moog 904a but not a b,c. I do have the full set in MOS-LAB. Let me know i...
