Re: re: Modular CV Keyboard

Look at the synthesizers.com keyboard. A much better, more versatile and far less expensive option.

Re: RIP Kevin Lightner/Synthfool

I met Kevin a few years ago when I had him work on my IIP. We became friends right away. Turns out we grew up just a few blocks away from each other and our paths had crossed several times years ago. He was in pretty serious pain the last time i spoke with him, both physical - as a result of his deb...

Re: Anyone use Synthesizers.com Stuff?

I have a fully packed 66 space DotCom along w/ my IIP. I expect another few cabinets will be in my future... Roger's customer service is second to none. I've had 0 problems with the DotCom. I agree that their functional density could be a bit better, but its not really a problem. Knobs and switches ...

Re: A little Moog modular goodness

Mikael, Thanks for the historical info. Sound Arts built the system for me in the mid-to-late 70s. My best guess now is 76 as I was just out of highschool when I got it. I'm trying to definatively track each module back to its original sourse system. The 901 mods include a low tracking pot on the ba...

THANKS to Kevin Lightner

In the late 1970s, when most kids my age were saving up for cars, I spent the proceeds of my very first bank loan on something completely different. You see, a little place called Sound Arts had a bunch of old Moog synthesizer modules they weren’t using and I wanted them... bad. They assembled a sma...

Re: Record CV with tape?

Regarding the above CV record to tape system, I was briefly exposed to Mort's concept at Cal Arts in the late 70s. I modified his system because my Moog doesn't have LPGs, so I took the CV I wanted to record to open a VCA which was sourced with white noise and the out was amplitude modulated noise w...

Moog Archives ?

Anyone know if the Moog Archive is still active? I've been trying to order one of their sweatshirts and the system doesn't seem to be functional. I sent the website administrator an e-mail and got no response.

Re: Bass players, any experience with Sonnus B2M?

The tracking is very poor. A much better, although more expensive, option is a Roland GK3B pickup which you can mount with 2 sided tape and a Roland or Axon converter.

Re: If you had to buy a Poly today?

I'd take a serious look at the Andromeda. They are discontinued, so unless you find a store with one in stock, you need to find one on eht used market. But WOW they sound great.

Kevin, First, a disclaimer: I'm thinking of something that happened almost 35 years ago when I was young and oftimes a bit "altered." That being said, In the mid 70s, I spent a bit of time at Sound Arts. I remember speaking with Dan Wyman about a patch they used on the Apocalyps Now projec...

Ozy; Believe it or not, I have a more than a few cowbells laying around somewhere. A few have more rust on them than I do.... :) One Halloween about 5 years ago, I wore 8 of them around my neck and went as Chris Walken. Eric; The hand drums are Latin Percussion Giovanni series.
