Re: Memorymoog Power Supply woes

Hello, Double check that you have all of the transistors secured to the heat sink. If all of that looks good, you may have to look at the current draw for each rail to see where the excess current is coming from, causing heat generation. Once you identify the extra current draw, you will need to foc...

Re: Memorymoog Power Supply woes

Hey,
Your right, they are both labeled C4 in the Schematic, (those norlin folks, huh?!).

Yes, the +15 raw voltage is sent to the 723 IC in the 5 volt section to provide power for that IC, if it is not there, the +5 volt section will not power up.

Re: Memorymoog Power Supply woes

Hi Guys, The polymoog had 2 different versions of the power supply, but the memorymoog only had the one version, which is a modified version of the final version of the polymoog power supply, hence the incorrect pin numbering. In the schematic, there is 1 connection coming from the + connection of C...

Re: Memorymoog Power Supply woes

O.K. First, you need to have the +15 volt power section active, because, the 5 volt regulator gets it’s power from the +15 volt supply. Second you need to connect the sensing lines for all voltages. So for best test results, connect all 3 AC power connectors. Using the pin numbering I suggested earl...

Re: Memorymoog Power Supply woes

Hi Guys, Be careful here as the power supply markings are mislabeled. The pin number on the physical power supply circuit board is INCORRECT. Refer to the power supply schematic for the correct pin numbering. For reference, if you are looking at the power supply with the connector end towards you an...

Re: Favorite synth solos!!

One of favorite Minimoog solos is from Starbuck.
The band that used several minis in it.

The song is an instrument called Bordello Bordeaux and can be heard at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlEWWuYeZ_c

Lots of xylophone and minimoog.

The solo starts at 3:35

Enjoy!!

Re: Moog "The Source" Repair help

Hello, Sounds like you may have a "Control" issue. I would look at the output of the de-multiplexor IC 4051 (U4 pin 15) with an "O" scope and see if you are getting a proper signal from the digital control circuits when adjusting the glide amount. Also the buffer (U9A) may also b...

Re: Please help me with my Minimoog. I've done all that I c

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are having this trouble. However with out seeing the MiniMoog, it can be very dificult to troubleshoot. What you need to do is trace the signal back through the synth starting at the output. You need experience with synth repair and the Mini in general to fix this. It soun...

Re: spacefunk, all synths all LP

Very well done!
I like the song as is (without the not yet added vocals). :D
This is very much the type of Moog music I like!

Thanks for this great tune!
