Re: Moog and eurorack kits

I don't have an MP-201 so this is just guessing. It does say it puts out .667 to 1.33v/oct which sounds like it's adjustable to me. One trick to fine tune things is using a mixer module meant for control voltage. One can simply trim down too high a voltage. You wouldn't necessarily need a whole mixe...

Re: Moog and eurorack kits

For all intents, yes. When you get into specifics a few things sometimes need something special to interface them. It might be something incredibly simple like a cable with a phono plug on one end and a miniplug on the other (or alternately a Multiples module with different jacks) or something a bit...

Re: Memorymoog board upgrade?

Given that the LAMM is still available (though not cheap) it probably reduces anyone from wanting to do a labor of love project involving a huge amount of time for something with relatively limited sales and profit margins. Not that you should never say never but these projects seem to need some kin...

Re: Memorymoog service NYC area

They repaired my MM+ last month, but they aren't necessarily cheap. Then again it's not a cheap and easy synth to repair.

Re: Memorymoog plus troubleshooting help needed

Ok, to elaborate, so a dead battery would start up and not warn you or anything, the symptom would just be a failure to store patches? Mine worked fine then suddenly locked up on startup. Lights go on but nothing responds. As for the stuck on note, the key still works I was theorizing the contact is...

Memorymoog plus troubleshooting help needed

First easy question. What are the symptoms of a Memorymoog plus with a dead battery?

Second question. Anyone ever deal with a key stuck on. The key itself moves fine so I'd assume the contact is stuck on.

Re: Moog Rouge or Rogue?

I can say with certainty that it's the same synth. Obviously some people write things down for album notes and if it doesn't instantly look wrong the printer just prints it. I'd guess interviews are worse since the interviewer is not going to stop the conversation all the time for spellings. You do ...

Re: Reissue the MG-1 Concertmate.....video to prove why

I'll agree that he explains it well. I bought one when I was a kid and Radio Shack got rid of them for $250. I guess they originally were $500 and they didn't sell in enough numbers, so much for making billions of dollars. It was a perfectly good basic synth with some interesting pros and cons in te...

Re: MemoryMoog on Ebay...guess how much

I've been wanting to get mine upgraded with LAMM since I got it in the 90s. Can't really blame Rudi but every time I get close it just gets more and more difficult to see happen, every time I come close to having the money it costs a lot more than what I expected before.

Re: Taurus 1 vs Taurus 3 comparison video

Admittedly Youtube and perhaps the video has pretty compromised sound but it is easy to note that the presets are rather different. It makes me wonder how much one chalks the difference up to vintage units sounding different from each other to begin with as well as their old components compared to h...

Big complex situations are usually best solved by thinking of them as many smaller less intimidating things to learn or solve. Often along the way you can find answers to other things you wanted to solve while concentrating on your initial questions. Temporarily pretend you have less than a lot of s...

Ahhh you beat me and did a good job on nice gear. I was meaning to do a cover of some sort and might even have played that MIDI file live once or twice with VA sounds. Lets see... the percussion works. Some nice patches. I think you are having a poly to mono problem at 8 seconds. The melody has the ...

I've heard one of the reasons why he did it is he has a lot of issues with his old label who own the original. I have kind of mixed feelings. The concept of really playing a 30 year old multitracked album live is at least an interesting stunt. All the gear is kind of cool. Some of his newer clubby s...

The price was $1495. Buchla uses the same memory card format for his 200e and LIGHTNING. So it is a bit amusing to plug one in with a Moog logo on it, though Buchla's cards lack the shell the Moog branded ones have. I guess there was a bit of a catch 22. Buchla certainly had few dealer connections. ...
