Re: Moog Liberation Owners Manual (Original? by Rock Wehrman

I'm a little surprised it is not on the net as a PDF file. Lots of usefull info in the manual though. Like the proper way to hold the Liberation with illustrations. http://i60.tinypic.com/30bmbsi.jpg The sync is a bit different with the force settings to control osc. 2. http://i60.tinypic.com/ej8k5s...

Re: 902A Bandpass Filter Adapter (Ebay)

Hey EricK, I was able to snag the photos from that January auction. Only a few pics from each auction. My goal was to get a few modules I did not have to add to my system. When I first found that original 1969 IP it had a large 8U blank and 4U blank. So I had 12U of spaces to fill. This is what it l...

Re: 902A Bandpass Filter Adapter Clone

Finally got around to putting this all together. First time attempt to clone a Moog module from just a few photos. I revised the schematic above to the latest version. The circuit does not use ground but gets it's voltage from the +12 and -6 supplies. This looks to be the same as the original modula...

Re: Minimoog keyboard problem

A second look at those Mini replacement pots. http://www.caesound.net/images/products/detail/100_1244.JPG They look like they may be those PEC type I had found and posted about in another thread. They can be had at Digikey for about $13.00 each. CAE wants another extra $10.00 on top of their standar...

Re: Minimoog keyboard problem

CAE sound had a kit with springs. They even have an insertion tool. (44 springs in kit.) m I have purchased from them a few times and they are a very reputable supplier of vintage parts. Have the CAE 4035 filter installed in my Odyssey and they sell those silver inserts for Moog knobs. The Minimoog ...

Re: R.A.Moog old school ring modulator clone

Made a modular patch diagram of the difference between the standard method and Minimoog method of modulation ammount. http://i58.tinypic.com/2l8jjep.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/syb6o3.jpg Looking at the Minimoog type patch, it looks like it should not work, but that is how it's done. Fully CCW the at...

Re: 904b schematic verify

Did find a few photos of that later revision 904B board. Looks like those .022uF caps in question are the smaller brown "chicklet" type on either side of the four cap sets. (No ceramic disks like the older revision.) http://i59.tinypic.com/14l272g.jpg This design is a more efficent use of ...

Re: 904b schematic verify

The original R.A.Moog 904B used a different switching method than on the schematic listed as 904B's with serials above 1194. Have a May 1970 made 904B serial 118X that uses different cap values. Guessing the change may have been due to availabilty or cost. But those early ones switched the two caps ...

Re: R.A.Moog old school ring modulator clone

The transformers I used were Edcor WMS10K-10K. Listed as $10.23 each but the shipping was almost as much as the two transformers. Well worth the price though. Did not want to loose any bass response ring modulating the Moog 901 oscillators. Here is the link to the Edcor USA site: m P.S. BTW, I've go...

Re: CL-1 Diode

Does anybody have some information / specs / data sheets of this component? Never did find the manufacturer or any reference or spec/data sheet on the original Moog used CL-1. I think it is rated at 1A 600V. Moog used these on both modulars and the original Minimoog. They were large and bullet shap...

Re: Gap on the left side of the control panel

Since Moog is listening:
My Korg PS-3100 has a similar gap on either side of the front panel, for clearance when servicing. Korg glued little pieces of black felt to the sides of the front panel so light would not show through the from back. Made it look finished and was an inexpensive solution.

Re: Minimoog Clone

The original R.A. Moog Mini had no IC's at all, but they only made a few hundred like that. The more common oscillator board had several IC's including 741's and SG3821 (CA3046). Later added was the buffer board with three 741 IC's. But even with the stable oscillator board, all the IC's were on the...

Re: R.A.Moog old school ring modulator clone

I should note the Youtube demo is only the ring modulator output. The real magic happens when that signal is recombined with the straight 901 waveforms in the Moog CP-3 mixers. The scope waveforms would literally dance with added saw/square/triangle waves from the 901's. This was the reason for the ...

R.A.Moog old school ring modulator clone

Interested in these old school ring modulators. R.A.Moog offered the Harold Bode licensed stand alone model 6401 and dual model 6402. Both models had extra circuitry to include a pre-amp and gate/threshold with final amplifier to work as a complete system. The basic ring modulator is a pair of audio...
