"So the input goes to the envelope follower and this triggers the filter..." An envelope follower tracks the level of the input and outputs a CV signal equal or proportional to the input level. Not sure what you mean by "trigger the filter," a filter is always active. "and t...

It's very obvious it's not a Clavinet. It sounds exactly like the DX-7 slap bass preset to me.

From what I remember, it took a lot of twiddling to get it to work right. Although it's possible, it's an extremely unpractical method.

A MoogerFooger 24db/Oct resonant HPF might be cool...

First, let me clarify - you mix the output of the LPF with the the inverted output of the LPF. The way I worded it was unclear.

I used an external mixer to combine the signals, but the CP's mixer works fine for audio - I don't get any clicking.

It's exactly what Eric said above - take the inverted output from the LPF and mix it with the original signal. When I did it, I used the CP-251 and the filter on an MS-10, although really any LPF, inverter, and mixer would work. I've since added a real HPF to my rig, so there's no more need for this...

I've tried the "inverted audio" trick to turn a LPF into HPF, and it definitely works. It's far from ideal, but possible.

Depends on what you mean by "warming" I suppose. An analog filter on a digital sounds good to me...

Thanks for the clarification, Eric.

I'd be interested in hearing the Sherman unit. I assume by the name it's based on the phase locked loop concept. This is probably the best approach you can get with analog.

The Electro-Harmonix box is essentially the same as the BOSS pedal but with more controls. Neither tracks especially well and neither actually does pitch to CV.

I voted for the OSC/EG, although I disagree with the "Guitar Synth" part. What is meant by this? A serious pitch-to-CV converter is unrealistic to ask for. If you want a crappy mono sort-of-synth effect, get a BOSS SYB-3. If you want a real guitar synth, get a Roland GR-33.

With the MF-101, you can run the ENV out into the lag processor on the CP-251, which will create a longer attack or decay than the original guitar signal.

The MF-101 has an envelpoe output - it tracks whatever is plugged into it.

On the CP-251, you can plug the LFO square out into the Lag Processor to make a basic ADR envelope. It's not triggerable, it just runs at the rate of the LFO.
