Review of the EW-Pro

Out of this world!

It captures all 5 senses and just doesn't let go:
-sound (duh!)
-sight (a beautiful piece of art...though I am disappointed that the prototype photos on the website show *birdseye* maple and *blue* LEDs...neither of which are featured on the actual model)
-smell (the maple wood ...

Strings anyone?

Has anyone coaxed any sort of string sounds out of their Voyager?

Care to share how it's done?

Re: Antennae: Longer better?

can we put a larger antennae
on the instrument? What happens to the sound? Also
what if we make an antennae a different shape or fabric?
(what of a long bare wire? that can be bent?)

Why fix something if it's not broken? You can use anything that is conductive for both antennae, although keep in ...

I've routed pitch voltages from various keyboards into the MF-102 frequency jack. You would want an attenuator to cool that signal down a bit because the oscillating effect of the carrier isn't really designed to be a VCO. Although the frequency can be controled in this fashion, the pitch would not ...

Last I heard (last week), the Moog sales department is now projecting mid June for the EWPro.

Sadly so. I just heard from Moog that the EtherwavePro is expected to ship at the end of April now.

I waited more than a year for my Voyager and it was worth every single one of those days.

So I'm not really upset about that fact. Just more excited!

I have a black t-shirt with a(n original) minimoog silkscreened on it in white. I got it on eBay several years ago. I haven't seen anything like it since. But I do love the shirt.

Re: Who also wants a Moogerfooger Oscillator?

I already have a genuine Moog oscillator. Actually I have 3, and they're all ganged together inside of another piece of Moog gear called the Voyager.

Moogerfoogers aren't really supposed to serve as sound sources. They provide modulation to an existing sound. Granted I have 'played' the carrier (MF ...

I don't remember what this one does but it's written down and it has 4 stars on it so I must have thought it was pretty good. I haven't touched the theremin in like 2 months (bad joke) but seriously, I may have to go dig it out of the closet to hear this again...
You will need: theremin (this might ...

bitchin' 'bout switchin'

Is anyone else bothered by the silly little A/B switch on the MuRF?

What happened to the fatty Moog-style rocker switch?

Envelope Generator

Wouldn't it be lovely if they made (so many sentences about analog gear start out this way) a dedicated ADSR envelope generator.

For severe modulation, I like to use a variety of CV to affect various parameters. An envelope could be patched to CV inputs on Moogerfoogers or Voyager. This could be ...

Mac OS X

My knowledge of MIDI is quite limited.

I've been using my Digi001 with the Voyager to send/receive sysex banks. Back in the days of 9.2, I used a program called SysEx 4.7.0. Everything worked just fine.

Now I've upgraded to ProTools 6 and OSX. Things are coming apart.

I've tried SysEx Librarian 1 ...
