Re: Moog Prodigy modulation wheel help

I think you'll have to open it up and take a look before anyone can suggest with certainty.

Re: Prodigy Problem

Sorry, but if they didn't calibrate it, I'm not sure what they 'fixed'. (Wave form? CV scaling? DC ripple?)

The price would have to reflect the mystery

Re: Prodigy Problem

Sorry. Wrong manual link. However, if you paid someone to fix "damaged internal circuits" and it didn't come back calibrated, I'd wonder what they did. Do you know which circuits they "fixed"? Here's the manual for calibrating: http://dl.lojinx.com/analoghell/MoogProdigy-Technica...

Re: Prodigy Problem

You had it rehabed and it came back not calibrated? What did the "rehab" entail?

Here's the service manual. Calibration (Tuning) is in there.

Re: Prodigy with oscillator 1 problem

I'm not an EE and a hobbiest at best; WD-40 is not to be used on a synth at all. You're probably going to have to replace the switch or at least remove it and clean it well, and also clean the board if you got any on it (which you probably did). Use isopropyl alcohol (99%) or a designated circuit cl...

Hopefully you saved your original pot. disassemble it and the new pot. Put the resistor element from the new pot into the old on. Close it up and you're good to go!

Re: Moog Prodigy Advice

If you're not scared, you can crack it open and check a few test points. My guess is an op amp in the VCA or VCF.
Where are you located?

Re: Prodigy with no audio out, but sound from Sync In jack

I would *not* go in with a large hammer like mega<>. Troubleshooting should always be: first understanding the circuit, visual inspection, thoughtful troubleshooting, component replacement. First, I would check the "Audio In" jack by plugging any audio source (phone/ipad/etc) in. If you ge...

Re: Prodigy: PSU Replacement

As alien noted, the PS are simple and the parts are inexpensive. In a simple synth with minimal power requirements shouldn't need a mega psu.

A former member here said that he always checked power, then gave everything a bath. Many issues would disappear after that.

Re: MG-1 Continuous Tone Problem

Don't go in with a sledge hammer. I don't have the schem in front of me, but replacing all the resistors and caps is generally not the way to repair. Have you checked the sliders (which are notorious for failing due to the black foaming goo). Are they within tolerance? Are there dead spots? I'm not ...

A note on synths through a Leslie; They'll sound like an organ. Which is great if that's what you want.
