Btw, i feel exactly the same way about OS's on analogue synths. I find it hard to explain exactly, but it's as if there's some sort of intruder or unwanted virus that has landed onboard the synth and is now sucking its blood.

Yep, this is the Moog - Ladder filter.
There are some Ladder filter designers that build Q compensation into the filter so there is no drop in level with high resonance values.
The Oakley systems Superladder has this ability:

Hey, i have an RS-09 and the CP251.
