Anybody have any idea of how many Voyagers (all models) have been produced so far ? I thought it would be interesting to know.

This is typical behavior for a Moog filter. When the resonance increases, other frequencies (usually lower frequencies) decrease. Its part of what makes the Moog sound!

I wouldn't want Moog to make a digital synth, they should stick with what they do best. Dave Smith's Evolver is a great idea, perfect digital/analog hybrid. I'm just not a big fan of the Dave Smith sound. While the Evolver's demos have impressed me, it still has that sound I don't like.

I never really understood the draw of the Taurus, but I guess I've never used one. You know if they made a new Taurus it wouldn't sound like the old ones. Even if it did people would say it doesn't! It would probably sound similar to the Voyager.

Wouldn't you rather have some sort of rackmount ...

The Andromeda does not have a vocoder. I was going to buy one, but I got the Voyager instead. The A6 is a great sounding synth, but it has such poor build quality. I would like to have one someday, but honestly, I don't think they will stand the test of time very well.

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking for super ballsy pads, more like subtle ambient stuff. Just ambient sounds, organs (non-hammond) and maybe some strings.

Thanks for the responses, I'm looking to get some pads and organ-type sounds (I've got bass/leads/FX covered!). As for the filters sounding digital, not a problem as I can just run it through the Voyager or MF101 if need be. Digital filters, although they may sound good, will never sound or behave ...

Yeah, I've seen them that low from dealers on eBay. They're even cheaper used.

This is a bit off topic, but how is the Ion? I've been considering getting a Micron to sit opposite the Voyager. At less than $350, how could I resist?!

This is an interview from last year. He starts out by saying they are (or at least at the time) considering a basic monosynth. You can tell he really doesn't want to make a new Taurus, which is fine by me.

You're saying you wouldn't want a Buchla because it uses patch cords? ...to each his own, I guess. Anyway, it can store knob positions and patch cord location by using the 210e router module.

I love my Voyager, but I wouldn't think twice about giving it up for a Buchla 200e. Ah, if only I had $20,000 to blow....

Well, I think you can eliminate the possibility of a faulty unit if your 103 is making noise, too. I little static is normal in MFs, but you say you are picking up radio frequencies. My guess would be it is your location, but I could be entirely wrong. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
