Re: Bring back the Moog Modular

EMwhite, I'd love to see Moog move into the Synthesizer.com, 5U (MU) direction but I'll say that no person at Moog actually owns a modular and quite frankly doesn't care about them especially from a manufacturing stand point. It's a disappointing aspect but ultimately a big reason why MakeNoise exis...

Re: Bring back the Moog Modular

I've always wished Moog would set aside an engineer (Amos?) to work on converting the current circuit designs into a modular format. The question is should Moog stick with its legacy 5U (MU) format or design for the much more popular Eurorack format? I'm not holding my breath and at least the Mooger...

Re: How do you route your touch surface?

Good call Eric! I use my Voyager with my modular and the TS outputs from the VX-351 control all kinds of destinations. You've brought up an interesting thought. I'm building a KLEE sequencer with 1/4" jacks for my Moog gear and will be implementing some uC stuff. The KLEE has a switch which con...

How do you route your touch surface?

I'll be playing a live show tonight with my voyager and the touch surface will be the main part of the performance alongside the knobs. I'm debating about where to route my TS in a preset and was thinking about all of the possibilities. It's an amazingly expressive input which far too many people ig...

Re: Tuning Scales not working

Many of the tuning scales have very subtle differences in pitch. I was thinking the same until Amos made a post about this issue explaining the various subtleties in each scale available in the presets provided by Moog (you can make your own). If you work through the different preset scales you'll e...

Re: Voyager and Minitaur?

As far as tricks go you should be able to send the Pitch CV out from the VX-351 into the Minitaur's Pitch CV input In my experience the Taurus 3 will detune by an interval when a pitch cv is applied to it. I tried to create a huge 5 osc unison sound and it was not happening without detuning the Fin...

Re: Taurus in the news...

Also, the recent updates (still to be finalised) and the recent newsletter announcing not just the Minitaur but (hopefully) renewed commitment from Moog seem good signs, although I did see a set of pedals go for just £900 including a custom flight case, which seemed a bit sad for some reason - nice...

Re: Modular synth compatable with Moog

I'm hoping I can get something that can act like the CP-251 then as I add modules can be a separate synth. From what I can work a Doepfer/euro rack stuff wouldn't work as it is 12v. The 12V is just the power supply the Doepfer/Eurorack gear is generally powered from. This is not going to matter whe...

Re: ATA case foam pads

I don't own one of these cases but I'm assuming the foam pads are there to keep the Voyager from bouncing back and forth within the case during intense shipping conditions. My SKB case has a similar setup. All I can say is the Voyager has two separate potentiometer/knob boards so the best place for ...

Re: Voyager and Minitaur?

Are there any tricks or benefits that can be made with the Voyager in conjunction to the new Minitaur? The Minitaur is built from the Taurus 3 design which is different from the Voyager's synth engine. The Taurus 3 pedal was too big for my setup but I loved it's sound so the Minitaur is the perfect...

Re: Is this normal for a Voyager OS?

Don't forget that you'll need to send the pitch CV from your source into the filter CV input as well. You can do this by MULTing your Pitch CV source and sending both signals into the Voyager PITCH and FILTER CV inputs on your OS. Both the CP-252 and VX-351 have MULTs. This is an often overlooked de...

The best resource for current Moog gear is located in the KnobTweak yahoo group.

You'll need to sign up but I can't stress enough how much great information is available. GregAE has done an amazing job and provides much of what you are looking for.

Re: Problem With LP Mod Wheel

jeepster, contact Moog Tech support before you open up the LP. The Mod wheel on the LP is a bit finicky but I'd say based on the description of your problem it could be nothing more then a simple adjustment. But, I wouldn't approach this without contacting MOOG! They're very friendly helpful and wil...

Re: analogue systems french connection with slim phatty

@yesak67, the most important question is how exactly would you like to be using the French Connection with the SP? As Voltor07 suggested an attenuator will help with the voltage variations. I'm also not sure if the SP (or the LP for that matter) has a 1Volt/octave CV input so the FC's keyboard may n...

Re: Moog to Debut new instrument NAMM 2012

I'll tell you what would be great: A module which will help complete the MoogerFoogers as a single performance setup. I've played my 101, 102,104, 105B, and 107 live but the obvious missing component was a proper envelope generator and VCA! It was a very frustrating performance and I haven't tried i...
